There is not a website catering to people who like to lift weights but dont want to be bodybuilders that i know of so this is a good place for info for me.

I wanna be a bodybuilder, but I don’t wanna lift no heavy ass weights.

How can you expect legitimate and useful responses from people without showing us what you look like. Not everyone looks the same at 10%. I have abs showing without flexing when I’m above 10%. Ingram (a pro BB, dont remember his first name) barely has abs in contest condition. There are so many personal variations its absurd. You could have at least given your current height and weight. Yep, everybody wants to be bodybuilder but nobody wants to lift heavy ass weights.

Yes, you may have to lose more weight than the numbers suggest. A lot of the weight you lose will be water and muscle. Pretty simple, just lose the weight (those same 10-12 lbs) and get tested again. That’ll give you an idea of how much weight you really need to lose.
My question to you: Is it really worth losing MONTHS worth of hard-earned muscle, just to be that lean? Keep in mind, they call it ‘contest shape’ for a reason. It’s almost impossible to make strength and size gains while maintaining sub-10 bf.
BTW, the question in this thread is not what this site is becoming known for. It’s the elementary-school-playground responses.

I like how serious he was, and then went on to plea to not get flamed. Because he’s a non-bodybuilder posting in a bodybuilding forum. About something not related to bodybuilding.
Before i get flamed like hell for being too small, i dont care i’m not a bodybuilder. There is not a website catering to people who like to lift weights but dont want to be bodybuilders that i know of so this is a good place for info for me. Its been a long time since i was really lean and i wanna do it again for fun.
there are a lot of sites that cater to weight training in general.

Are you really telling some guy with those stats who hates muscle to lose more weight? If he is anorexic does your advice still stand?
There has to be some mental defect present for someone to log into a BODYBUILDING forum and ask questions that completely go against BODYBUILDING.
People who don’t want big muscles now want to be in “competition shape”? For what? To show off collar bones and ribs?

I dunno, thats what every bodybuilding site it probably known for… Is anyone going to answer the question?
BTW info in my profile is way outdated, it wants me to fill shit out that i dont want to so i wont change it. I am well over 188 if that will help get a serious answer out of someone. BTW jehovas your 195 @ 15%… i carry considerably more muscle than you, what are you doing make smart ass remarks?[/quote]
I make a smart ass comment because of your post. You knew you were going to get flamed, why so shocked.
Just because I’m where I’m at doesn’t mean I’m where I want to be . I’m a work in progress.

He told you of some sites that cater to people like you who don’t want to build big muscles and just get ‘ripped’ or in shape.

I think the smart-ass remark was Cosmo.

So cutting weight to get to sub-10 bf%'s has nothing to do with bodybuilding? Shit, name one BB’er who has ever won a show with +10%bf

Not the point. What bodybuilder has ever won a show with NO muscle?
Are you really telling some guy with those stats who hates muscle to lose more weight? If he is anorexic does your advice still stand?

I didn’t tell him to lose more weight. As a matter of fact, I questioned him on whether this would be a good idea or not. I DID, however, answer his question without ridiculing him just for being smaller than me.
He says he’s 5’10", well over 188lbs and 10.1%bf, which puts his LBM at about 170, and at 5%, he’d be about 178. He also says that’s up from 165lbs. How does this guy hate muscle? How the fuck is he anorexic?
Again, cutting does not go against BB’ing. All competing bodybuilders do it when preparing for a show, therefore it’s part of the game. The OP has a goal in mind, and came to what SHOULD be the best place to gain info about achieving that goal. Who else in the world would intentionally drop to 3% bf other than a BB’er?
As one of the bigger guys on this forum, you could be a great source of information about what could and should be done in bodybuilding. But I haven’t seen very many helpful posts from you. It’s mostly been flaming and whining about newbies and general dissing of people who are too small for your taste.
There are other ways to change people’s minds about whether their goals are wise or not. You don’t have to be a complete asshole all of the time.

Clearly, I write no “helpful” posts at all. Your observational skills are astounding.
To get to the point, the quadratic formula is used to calculate contest shape. Thats how dexter jackson comes in so shredded all the time, he got an A in math.
