Jesus Christ. 11 fucking pages of emotion-filled posts about Zercher squats. You people have problems.

Thanks.

Dude, you can say whatever you want. The problem is with your delivery, as usual. : )

No distinction needed to be made until you threw in your dumb comments in the beginning. Here is the original post:

I’ve noticed that heavy zercher lifts are quite a rarity. Why is that? I know about the forearms thing, but it really isn’t that bad. And sure, an odd lift like that doesn’t exactly cross everyone’s mind, but I’m sure that some strong dudes to do 500+. BTW, zercher lifts are from the floor, and zercher squats are from a rack (at least how I see it).

Did he ask anything about getting huge gunz or its application to bodybuilding?
Well did he?
No?
Well then why does anything about bodybuilding need to be thrown in there? Why did you feel the need to insult the physique of the guy in the video?
How old are you?
I was speaking to LOUDOG, not the OP, not YOU, not power;lifters in general.
There was no reason to clarify a post to someone who knew exactly what I meant. I didn’t have to clarify it until all of you did the usual “Prof X Hunt”…which at this point is just making you all look repetitive and unoriginal.
I’m old enough to know when someone is full of shit.
“It’s a biceps tear waiting to happen.”
Is that statement true of false?
It is true, TO A FUCKING ADVANCED BODYBUILDER, who is training their biceps just as hard as someone training their deadlift with way higher volume who is already at risk of a tear.
I would say the same about doing low behind the neck shoulder presses. They lead to major risk of shoulder injury…which is why the advice in bodybuilding is usually to not go below the ears if you do them at all.
Do you get it now?
This was not just a discussion about powerlifting. It was in an off topic forum and if this is the fucking response to me making a comment to someone I consider a friend here, you all need to check yourselves.
BUT YOU DIDN’T SAY ANY OF THAT, DID YOU?
And it doesn’t matter who you said it to. It was a stupid comment that included had no qualifier about direct biceps training or advanced bodybuilding.
It’s like if you’re standing around and you hear a guy tell another guy that the earth is flat. You interject and say, “No, it’s not.” And he replies, “I WASN’T EVEN TALKING TO YOU!”

Do I threaten you? I am honestly wondering at this point…because anyone reading this thread without this much bias can clearly see that not ONE post was made about this exercise in powerlifting. From start to finish it has been about bodybuilding…from a direct comment to someone who understood exactly what I was talking about.
The only reason I can see someone responding like this every single time just because it is me, is if they feel threatened…or maybe if they are jealous.
We have a fat fucking 300 year old vampire running around the boards giving bodybuilding advice to newbs…but your mission in life is to stop me from discussing bodybuilding in the off topic forum???
Really?
Fellas, esp RJ, zombie rules apply here. You have to shoot him between the eyes, decapitate or burn the body completely or he will just keep coming for you. Or, maybe you just enjoy beating the crap out of zombies with a baseball bat? I can understand that.

Oh really? This whole thread was about bodybuilding? Please quote the OP and show me where he mentioned bodybuilding. YOU didn’t even say anything about bodybuilding with your post that started all of this. Once again, you made a general comment about it being a biceps tear waiting to happen, which is false.
This is why so many people find you to be such an abrasive prick. You can’t even admit when you are wrong. Instead, you make stuff up as you go along and add things to your original argument until it makes some sense.
Can you really not understand why people jumped on you after your original comment?

Who said this? The OP was into powerlifting. Loudog made a post. I responded to Loudog. You and friends decided to turn that into “Prof-X-final conflict”. You aren’t making sense. This is an off topic forum. Tangents rule here…yet for me they are off base?
I really want to see you uphold that in every thread you post in from now on…just so you aren’t a hypocrite.
Here’s what happened:
PX: “It’s a biceps tear waiting to happen.”
Poster 1: “No it’s not.”
Poster 2: “I do them all time and have never had any problems.”
Poster 3: “Here are some videos of people doing zerchers with heavy weight.”
Poster 4: “I know tons of people who do them without any injuries.”
Poster 5: “Here’s some science showing that curls actually put more stress on the biceps than zerchers do.”
PX: “Well I’ve had a biceps injury in the past and I train biceps heavy twice a week.”
Poster: So your original statement was wrong?
PX: I SAID THAT IT WAS A BICEPS TEAR WAITING TO HAPPEN IF YOU ARE AN ADVANCED BODYBUILDER, HAVE HAD A PRIOR INJURY, OR TRAIN BICEPS HEAVY TWICE A WEEK! GAWD, CAN’T ANY OF YOU READ?!
Professor X wrote:

Because you make the same tired strawmen and go off on the same tired tangents in every fucking thread you post in.

Says the guy with an entire thread devoted to his stupid arguments and half-witted condescending self-talk.

I’d like to think I was as cold, boring and emotionless as is allowed on an internet forum :).

Tell me something…if this bothers you so much and you think I am the cause, why would you not simply put me on ignore and be happy?
You know why?
Because you are at fault here just as much as anyone posting still. My comment on the first page didn’t warrant any of this. You and others do this constantly…and then act like I did it somehow.
If you want the bullshit to stop, quit responding to everything I write like you need to put me in my place. You would have to be above me to do that.

OK, let’s take a look at Loudog’s post:
Professor X wrote:
Loudog75 wrote:
^^ X2 - what’s the value of the zercher unless you’re doing functional strongman training?
Even for strongman (i’m ignorant on strongman lifts) why do you need to go so heavy? How much weight would be the normal amount for say Stone Lifts?
It’s a biceps tear waiting to happen.
I swear, it is like some people do shit just so no one calls them a bodybuilder. If the result of a 400lbs “zercher squat” is to look like the guy in that vid, I’ll really fucking pass.
Loudog asked what the value of zerchers are unless you’re doing strongman. Then he asks why they would go so heavy even if it was for strongman. Lou didn’t say anything about it’s application to biceps training. He was asking questions about its use and value.
You reply that, “It’s a biceps tear waiting to happen.”
But let me guess, you and Lou can communicate telepathically and you knew that even though he didn’t say anything about bodybuilding, he told you in your mind that’s what he really meant.
Does that about sum it up?

I’m responding because every point you’ve made in this thread has been repeatedly and thoroughly refuted, yet you keep ignoring that, posting the same tired bullshit, and trying to shout down anyone who has a differing opinion because you absolutely HAVE to be right on the internet.
How about YOU stop responding to everyone like you’re above them and need to put them in their place? As far as condescension and demanding unearned respect goes, you wrote the book on it.
11 pages of BS over Zercher Squats - Really???
Let me sum it up so you can close it:
I don’t do them. I see them more as a functional training (strongman and now with more info - PL). Not for me, I’ve got other lifts I can do.
MM, H4M$ and others actually use them and lift heavy weight (which I think was the objective of the thread).
PX doesn’t do them and see’s other excerices as more valuable.
Bottom line - some people use them/ others don’t - for their own various reasons.
Why o Why is this still a discussion???
P.S - I was wrong, as was X (in my opinion) for dumping on the little dude in the video (which was not the op). I think we both apologized. Let he who has not made a joke cast the first stone.
Guaranteed if it were just li’l old me (and not X) making the arguments X has made in this thread, it wouldn’t have gone on for 11 fucking pages.
In a nutshell, no one here feels threatened by an Iron Dwarf.
lol

ah HA! Pretending to be all gentlemanly and wanting this to come to an end, then throwing in this little bit of back handed smack. No no you are enjoying this too much and want it to continue.

And X has never sincerely apologized in his life. I don’t even need to read back to know this.

Would you have continued arguing and knocking down strawmen for 11 pages? It takes two to tango.

Edge, I’ve rarely if ever seen ANYONE apologize on these forums. And why would any of us if we feel that what we’re saying is truth? Usually a thread will just cool down when points have been batted back and forth several times with no resolution.
