How Big is Too Big?

Yes.

How do you feel your top speed and acceleration is now compared to if you were lighter?

By the way, good thread topic.
Right now it is probably better…because I changed how I trained and started doing a little more cardio…but in general, yeah, many may experience a loss of some “agility” if they get really big…which is why you have to really want that for it to happen anyway.

Yes, there are downsides to being really big. My head can NOT touch the pillow if I lay on my side unless I have 3 of the fuckers stacked up on top of each other.

I am willing to accept that.

It will be up to you if you are though.

That was me at 180. Pretty sure I wasn’t too big

For me my reasons for my pursuits go something like this in order:
The ability to do shit. (run, lift heavy stuff outside the gym, open stuck jars, est.)
Health and wellness
My love of training (the training as its own reward)
Build (size, muscularity, looking good naked)

So for me, if gaining weight, and especially fat, quickly dip into not worth it territory. The real question for me (and I think should be for anyone) is, ?is getting bigger going to make my life better?? If it can get me to my next goal in a lift, or make me look better maybe yes. If I have to increase my triglycerides, and walk instead of run with my dogs, probably not.

Who runs? Sprint or walk bro

Yes.

Yeah, I think that this is where the “Too Big” line rests for each individual. For me its lower, because I enjoy the fact that I can still torch someone on a fly route in a backyard football game or cover from Left to Center in a Co-ed Softball game. If I was bigger, I would lose some of that. Maybe at some point in my life my perception will change but right now other qualities have a higher priority than muscular size and I am unwilling to compromise on them, so size is the one that takes the hit. Although I still think 205 @ 10% for a 5’11" guy will not leave people wondering if I work out ha.

When you can’t fit into a Smart.

This!

Too big is when women’s "Ooooh"s change to "Ewwww"s.

Even if that puts at only 180lbs??

That’s kind’ve a dumb limit to put on it because some people are very active (demanding job etc) before I started my cut I maintained 215 @ 4300 calories and wasn’t even that active outside of the gym besides walking a few miles a day.

My post really should note that I mean muscularly.

I can certainly get too fat. =0)

This to me is about ideal, Dan Green one of the best powerlifters to ever live…also an amazing physique.

The density is unreal.

I believe he is around 230-240 here.

Dez would know better than me.
Dan â??The Savageâ?? Green is perfection, he has strength and physique.

Agreed. I like lean powerlifter physiques >bodybuilding physiques. Guys like pete rubish, dan green etc look great and lift huge weight

Also this guy - Konstantin Konstantinov.

X, how much are you weighing these days? Still “150lbs”?

Oh hell yea, KK is a fucking beast and one of my favorite lifters.

Also he oly lifts but Dmitri Klokov IMO might have the ideal physique ever and he does ridiculous shit like snatch grip 4 inch deficit deadlift 500 something for reps in oly shoes too yet. haha

Yep, the leanness is accentuated by the crazy muscle density.

I agree with the lean powerlifters>bodybuilders, except I have to admit that I can’t stand Pete Rubish. His youtube videos are just comical to me. Too much brostosterone. He just reeks of cockiness, when their are other accomplished powerlifters out there right now who outshine him, like the Lilliebridges, George Leeman, Brandon Lily, etc.

Really? I dunno I never got too bad of a vibe from him lol. He’s at a WAY lighter bodyweight now than he was at his strongest obviously since he’s focusing on MMA for the time being. Nevertheless he was and is an extremely elite level lifter. An 800lb deadlift at 240 is other worldly.

Pete’s cool as shit. Catch up on his recent videos.

Big and ripped like Kai Green and Dexter Jackson is perfect. Big and fat like Professor X? Not so much.
