Glad I stopped when I did yesterday. Going to do some stretching and light BW ab stuff at work today. Gonna stay around 80% max between now and my meet.

warm up 5 minute bike, dead 135x8,225x5,315x3,405x1
dead 500x1,540x1

Thats all my left low back could take. I even did a good warm up. I was going to do rack pulls as well but didn’t want to set myself back. I may do the rest tomorrow night.

I dunno, man. Once the back is done for the day, it’s done. Best to let it rest if it feels worked. Maybe some recovery stuff but nothing heavy.[/quote]

I say Amen Skidmark. Once my back starts, that’s it for the day. If I lay off, my back will be perfect in couple of days. If I force it, then it’s a couple of weeks at least.

Then again, treating backs was my forte.

Hitting the chiropractor after work today. Back needs a little love. But I still can’t wait to do heavy deads again.

I wish I went to the chiropractor sooner. I left there with my back feeling great.

Good!

bench 135x10,135x10,225x5,315x2,365x1(all paused)
working sets 385x1,1,1,1,1(all paused)
3 board press 315 5x5
bowflex tri ext 160x12,10,7

Was only supposed to used 80% max for 5 singles. But I haven’t benched for a week and was feeling motivated. (385 is closer to 95% max)

bike 5 minutes,mtn climbers,back ext pushups
dead 135x10,225x5,315x1
working sets 455x1,1,1,1,1
rack pull 405 5x5, 495x5
pull up BW 5x5
leg curl 75 5x10

455 is around 80-85% of max. Back felt great. I was really focused on keeping the best form I could. Anything over 400 lbs I use a belt now.

Thats a good workout Eco. You are a damn strong rascal!

Just took that ‘how strong are your abs’ test from the new articles. I failed it.

RE squat stuff

front squat 135x10,225x5(had to stop)
step ups BW 3 sets 15 reps each leg
jump lunges BW 3 sets 20 reps
abs, hurdle step overs(a bunch of sets)

The tear shaped part of my right quad was killing me doing the front squats. I had to stop. So I moved onto single leg work, hip mobility and abs. I used a pvc pipe to roll my quads and middle back.

Do you roll the inside of the quad?
sometimes that helps…

I roll my foot/feet with a golf ball
and that helped with some knee pain
in the front squat
that deadlift work out looked awesome…

Damn strong workouts Eco! Looking great.

you might try some “sissy squats” with bodyweight only to get some blood into the tear area (is that called the psoas? I can never remember).

good single-leg stuff, too. How much do you weigh?

A lot…265lbs. Thanks for the sissy squat idea. I’ll try them next RE squat day.

Can also do high rep hindu squats (BW squats on toes) to strengthen/rehab up that VMO (teardrop muscle) and tendons.

That 1-23 bench workout was strong bro!Nice work.
