Who the fuck died and made you the fashion police?

If you want to prance around and be the official T-Nation queer eye for the buff guy, knock yourself out. But what people wear to a club or bar shouldn’t really be any fucking major concern of yours. If some guy walks into the club wearing a tight shirt and looks lame, he doesn’t need your disapproval–he won’t get laid. Or, alternately, he’ll wear some tight fitting shirt and will get laid. See, unless you’re cruising clubs and bars for cock, I don’t see why you need to worry about fashion faux pas’ that are relevant to the ladies.

The fact is that people wear tight/revealing clothes to clubs. And most good clubs aren’t even going to let you in wearing a compression shirt. So basically you’re yammering on about guys wearing shirts that are designed specifically for clubs and specifically to show off their bodies (kind of like the clothes that chicks wear to clubs).

If you’re seeing people wear workout clothes to clubs, you’re going to crappy clubs. And even then your focus ought to be on drinking, dancing and talking to chicks, not catty bitching about what other dudes are wearing.

DAMN did I hurt your feelings?
Looks like you hit a sore spot. Maybe you revealed his little secret(ie: photo).

I’m sure underarmour designers werent thinking to themselves “oh, some douchebag is going to look AWESOME in this out at a club. Ladies are going to be all over this motherfucker wearing our stuff.” No, they made clothes for working out.

And even then, if I see a guy in the gym wearing tight clothes, grunting while curling, and trying to bring attention to himself while working out… well, hes the attention whore that that asshole PGA was talking about above. And, for the most part, the jackasses wearing tight clothing and sleevless shirts, are the assholes who bring attention to themselves in other ways, too.

I’ve gotta disagree with that. I can wear a form fitting T-shirt that highlights my physique without feeling “gay”.
I don’t see anything wrong with being gay, so I think your statement makes no sense. In any evnet, people who wear stretch shirts are douchebags.

Truth.

How can you “show off” while not “trying to get any approval.” That’s about as good an example of a non-sequitor as I’ve seen.

No, dont worry calilaw… hes perfectly secure.

Sky, you’re perfectly secure, right? You just like to show off your physique to the public, and post on message boards about your two houses, huge bank account, as well as your advanced degree. Perfectly secure… Does your shrink know that you’re perfectly secure?

I don’t know, man. I think being is pretty fucking gay. Don’t you?

Tell me, do you get your eyebrows waxed and wear eyeliner (kind of like what chics do to get attention from the opposite sex)?

I’ll bet he does!

Not sure what you’re saying. Anyhow, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being gay, so gaying, “That’s gay!” is not an insult in my book.

is gaying gay worse than saying gay? not that there’s anything wrong with that. is this a seinfeld episode?

Well, the only reason I posted my situation is to make a point - within the context of the conversation, it was a perfectly reasonable statement to make. It isn’t like I started a thread about it. I didn’t do it out of any kind of insecurity. The same goes for my physique.

I’m perfectly comfortable with who I am, so fortunately little barbs about “my shrink” don’t really phase me. That said, I don’t really see any reason anyone would need to be insulting to me, but I’ve noticed a lot of that on these boards.

I’m easy - if someone has a good physique and wants to show it off, that’s cool with me. If the topic of finance, education or any kind of personal or professional achievement comes up in the natural course of discussion, I’m all for hearing about anyone’s accomplishments or good fortune - I’ll even congratulate them for it.

That’s just me though. If you feel the need to make me out to be an egotistical prick with self-esteem issues, so be it.

I’m with you SkyNett, your just experiencing a backlash of jealousy. You weren’t over the top in your posts at all. Congratulations on your level of success in life.

Are you guys nucking futs? Of course I’m going to wear stuff that complements my physique. I work my ass off in the gym and I enjoy the attention from the opposite sex. And any of you who say u just work out for you and you only are liars.

However, I wouldn’t me going to a club in a UA shirt and nothing else over it either. I may wear it out if I’m just scrubbing for the day but that would be it. Yes, I’ll wear sleevless shirts for the summer too. And I’m not even huge by T-Nation standards but I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished thus far.

Thanks. I appreciate the positive response. Seems rare around here sometimes… : )

Guidos of the world, unite!

I could certainly pull of wearing UA. I wouldn’t wear that to a club. It’s a douchebag move.

I also don’t wear velour to clubs - or anywhere else. I also don’t spike my hair, or put highlights in my hair. I also don’t say, “bro” or act like I’m in the mafia.

See a pattern?

Well, now you’re adding a whole bunch of variables to the original equation which was simply about wearing body-conscious clothing.

Now we have asshole, guido-punks who are also wanna be wiseguys with tons of hair-gel and at least mild retardation…wearing Under Armor.

That changes things a bit.

I agree with you here. I just don’t see anything wrong with wearing body conscious clothing.

I don’t find hair-spiking, if not taken to an extreme, to be particularly bad. I know it looks cool on me, so I do it.

Maybe we’re talking over each other’s head. If by “body conscious clothing,” you’re refering to UA/tight shirts… those are off limits. If you mean a man should simply wear nice clothing/clothes that fit properly and aren’t sloppy, then we have no disagreement.
