To be totally honest, I don’t like your build. Though I remember looking about the same when I was sixteen. You’re young, there is a lot of time to grow muscle and reach your goals.

As you can see…I need to gain some serious muscle mass. I know this picture deserves a rating below what you can possibly give, but I am posting it for a few reasons: First, as a before pic. I have been training for about a month now and will continue to do so until I reach my goals. In a month or so I will post another, and hopefully there will be vast improvement.
Second, I figure the posts I get from you guys about how weak this pic is can only help to motivate me. And third, I would like advice from anyone willing to help a guy out. If anyone asks I will post more specifics about my training and diet.[/quote]
I guarantee in a month or so you wont see a vast improvement, my advice would be don??t get your hopes up and lower your expectations it will take at least a year before you start seeing any major improvements.
Thought I’d give a quick update…been working hard and progress has been pretty slow; but hey, progress is progress. Been married a year and a half, which has been good to me. IBS is under control, and I am attempting about 3,500 kcals per day.
I’ve been getting most of my workouts and meal plans out of Muscle and Fitness, which I find to be pretty solid.
Since I posted on hear over a year ago, I have gained about 15 lbs and quite a bit of strength (went from not being able to lift 100 lbs to doing sets with 135).
Anyway, thanks for the advice for those who gave it…and for those who made fun, it’s all good. Probably shouldn’t have posted this one in RMP, but hey, it’s a good thing I don’t let insults get me down. Anyway, let me know if anyone has anymore advice. Peace out.
Well your strength has gone up quite a bit. But your weight gain is horrible I think you should have at least gotten 30-40lbs in that time frame heck even more.
and inb4 people saying “Shitty progress, in 6months i was repping 185lbs!”
Wow…just started reading through this thread and I gotta say it’s pretty funny. Probably should have posted this in the beginner section or in a personal blog lke some suggested…but hey, who knows if I would have gotten as much response as I did in this scenario.
Anyway, thought I’d give an update.

Well…it’s definitely true that since I posted this a year ago, my weight gain has not been good. However, I really did not start gaining any weight until a few months ago. I have battled some gut problems and a couple of surgeries since then; So really I have gained about 15 lbs in the last few months, and for me, that’s very encouraging.
that’s all good man, my mom has Ulcerative colitis. Some guys here have no idea how fucked up shit like U c and IBS can be for some people. As long as you’re doing the best you can who cares. Hopefully you’ll keep at it and make bigger gains. You have nothing to lose and all to gain.
