High Protein Low Carb Cooking Recipies?

Does anyone know of any high protien/low carb cooking recipies so i can make muffins, bars, etc? I cant afford proper bars all the time and was interested in cooking non-liquid recipies for when im on the go. Anyone know any good sites or have their own home made cooking tips?

I am also extremely interested in high protein low carb recipes.

You can bake a jar of peanut butter for a while, that will have a lot of protein and very little carbs.

You might also want to try baked tuna muffins, just put some tuna in a muffin pan and cook that shit till it looks like a muffin.

Here is a recipe that I got a few years ago from musclemedia. I’ve altered the ratios though, so here goes. In a blender add 3 egg whites, 1/3 cup cottage cheese and 1/2 cup oatmeal. Blend until it is kind of thick but still pourable from the blender. Cook just like pancakes on a hot grill with a little Pam or cooking spray. You can eat these hot, cold or whatever and they are loaded with good proteins and healthy carbs.

Be aware if you cook your protein powder, you’ll denature it. That is why all the quality protein manufacturers use the more expensive LOW HEAT processing methods. If your going to cook it, be sure to buy the cheapest protein powder you can find so as not to denature the good stuff. This has been discussed in quite a few previous threads.

Remember that guy that was Oprah’s personal nutritionist way back when? He was also the nutritionist for Martina Navitolova (sorry about the obvious misspelling) - well, he also wrote a cookbook for high protien, low-carb meals. AND he had a terrific recipe for Tuna Muffins (believe it or not)! His name escapes me at the moment but I want to say it’s Richard, Robert Haas or something. I have this recipe at home, I’ll find it and post it. It is very tasty. But I do have a suggestion, check out the internet. Use High-Protien, Low-Carb as your search title - have you done that?

This web page has some nice low carb cake, pancakes etc…

Just bumping this for you Patricia. I want that tuna muffin recipe! It sounds damn nasty, but I value convenience over taste.

You got it! I’ll post it once I find it at home…

**This was in my old recipe folders so I can’t be certain it’s from that nutrition dude. But I had one of his old books - and he was for a HIGH carb/LOW fat-type of diet. NOT high protein - sorry, my mistake. Hey, let me know how this tastes!

The easiest way to make good protein bars is to simply take smooth peanut butter, mix in protein powder, and blend them together in a bowl. Put this mix in whatever kind of pan you want, refigerate or freeze it, and presto, instant protein bars. You can have whatever amount of each ingredient you want, and it tastes great. The only drawback is it melts rather easily, so just bring along an insulated lunchbox with a little freeze bag in it and you’ll be fine.

Yeah did use a search but got alot of crappy results. I wanted something that i would use instead of bars and muffins. I just came here for everyone else’s cooking methods really!

Thanks a lot! I have found that Berardi’s massive eating protocol works a lot better for me, so I don’t know if I can fit that recipe into my diet or not. I’ll give it a try at least once though! Maybe I can tweak it to fit into a P+C meal. I’ll let you know.

Making low carb muffins or bars that are good to eat is tough, your better off buying them. My advice would be to cook off a bunch of chicken breasts (hit them with some cajun spice), and carry an insulated lunch bag.
