I was prescribed 100mg of test cyp weekly without any AI for my low total testosterone levels (~200ng/dl). Switched to daily shots since my SHBG was 8nmol/L and the weekly protocol caused me high E2 (70pg/mL) with its accompanying side effects (bloating, acne, excessive daytime fatigue and sleepiness, anxiety etc). The daily protocol pegged my total testosterone at 790ng/dl and E2 at 20pg/mL. It worked wonders for my confidence and energy levels, but my libido and erection quality remained sub par as before. I experience anxiety/panic attacks every time my e2 crosses 30, so I was pretty sure the seemingly low e2 wasn’t to blame. I asked my doc to help, but he wouldn’t budge and said it was all in my head.
I made the mistake of taking matters into my own hands and this is where things went downhill. Got my hands on some UGL test cyp and started blasting without any research or reading. I did upwards of 1000mg a week (doing daily shots) like an idiot without any AI. My libido and erection quality went through the roof, but by the end of 3 weeks I started experiencing symptoms such as excessively oily skin, tender nipples, tightness in my hands/feet, bloated face, fatigue anxiety etc which spooked me. I cut back to my TRT dose of 100mg weekly but the high e2 symptoms only got worse. I was having crazy panic attacks and depressive episodes. Consuming greasy foods/anything sour aggravated the high e2 sides even more. I ordered some UGL aromasin and took 100mg daily for a month to no avail. Its been 3 months since I stopped blasting but I’m still experiencing high e2 sides with the same intensity. About 2 weeks ago, my doctor put me on 0.25mg arimidex (he doesn’t prescribe aromasin) EOD but that doesn’t seem to help either. I’m guessing my e2 is rebounding since I ceased my supraphysiologic dose.
I regret not researching beforehand and never intend to cycle/blast again. Any pointers on what I can do to rectify my situation? Also, how long before the e2 stops rebounding and returns to TRT levels?
Coming down from a huge test level back to normal trt dose has sides of its own. When I did this I broke out massively in spots on my back and chest. Still have them now.
I would stay at recommended dosage that the doctor has said. 0.25 arimidex eod is a lot IMHO for your dose. I would maybe do that e4d. As crashed e2 is just as bad.
Would say doctors doseage of test which I believe you said was 100mg.
Pin 50mg twice a week along with 0.25 arimidex twice a week
Thanks for replying! I got some tests done ~2 weeks ago. My total test was at 954, e2 at 85, SHBG was down to 4! HCT was thankfully under 48%. Doc put me on arimidex for the high e2 and the sides I was experiencing. Would it be a good idea to stop my TRT dose too? Or should I reduce my TRT dose for a while and see how I fare with that and the arimidex?
Thanks for replying! I see. A daily protocol works best for me on TRT dose because I tend to aromatize heavily given my low SHBG. Should I stick to daily, or do you think I should change to twice a week? Did you experience any e2 rebound when you resumed normal TRT dose? If so, how long did it take for you to reach homeostasis?
Thanks for replying! Yep, 2.5 months after resuming TRT dose, my total test was at 954, e2 at 85, SHBG was down to 4! HCT was thankfully under 48%. Doc put me on arimidex for the high e2 and the sides I was experiencing.
Well I would use whatever protocol the doc has in place for now. Genuine question, are you fat? This will cause more aromatization and you’ll have higher E2 levels
I doubt this is high E2 if you’ve been on 100mgs for the last three months.
I think you should go on discounted labs website and order some labs. Total T, free T, SHBG, estradiol sensitive, at a minimum.
Edit: I see you did get labs. Did I read above that you’re only taking .25 Adex EOD? If I had Test of 900s and E2 in 80s, I’d up the AI for a couple weeks until it was under control.
