I’m not sure what the webcam mother’s power is either, but I was kind of wondering if maybe she’s got some ‘strong’ side hidden in her that she hasnt managed to willingly tap into yet. Otherwise, I kind of wonder if she’s being set up as a super-villian.
Last night’s episode I started to think that, as well. When she looked in the trunk and the bodies were in there, I started thinking to myself “Something tells me she may not be one of the ‘good guys’ when this is all said and done…”[/quote]
yeah same here

I am just curious about the Syler (sp?) character. Its obvious who it is, but the Jap guy knows what’s going to happen and knows he has the potential to teleport. I think the storyline is gonna be sweet. Does the Indian guy have any powers? I missed the opener so I am not sure.

He hasn’t been shown to have any yet.
I agree that the plot is great, but the script is so-so. As people have stated, its the little things (head twist, etc.) that can take you out of the action. For example, when mohindar and his neighbor are searching for the lizard - do they really have to bump heads and have that “i think we’re about to fall in love” moment? With certain great shows, I feel like I’m “in the tv” the whole episode. With this show, its in and out… But the plot really is engaging, so I’ll keep watching.

I’m not so sure that the cheerleader’s dad is Syler, if that is in fact what you’re saying.
In the first episode our Indian geneticist goes to his father’s apartment in India and takes a picture of the map on the wall. The creepy dad is in the next room talking on the cell phone about how all the files were left behind. But our Indian guy’s father was murdered in New York City, not India. So what is the cheerleader’s dad doing in India? And who is he talking to on the phone?
So either Syler is a serial killer we haven’t met yet, or Syler is an acronym for some government group tracking down our evolving heroes and removing their brains. Or some further-fetched conspiracy theory.
3rd Episode - Comments?
I thought this hour flew by, the show definitely moved a lot more than the previous 2 episodes.
-We saw the mysterious Syler for the first time I’m positive it’s not the cheerleaders dad, I think he works for some secret agency that goes about dissecting the people they are able to find.
-I can’t believe that his brother threw him uner the bus like that, pretty damn fucked up, all for the sake of his political career!
-The end scene was just insane, where she wakes up already split open. I guess her healing powers have a limit onto brain tissue? It seems taht as soon as the stick was removed she was healed but with the object lodged in there she couldn’t do anything about it.
-So it looks like Hiro and the crazy mirror chick are supposed to meet up in vegas? hmm
What’s everyone else think?

yea, this episode definitely had a better flow to it than the last two. You think syler was that black guy wearing the white shirt at the bar?

When the cop couldn’t read his thoughts, that’s immediately what I thought.

yea, its him for sure. I just check it out again, and the necklace hes wearing is the the same strange shape that the painter painted AND the shape that was hidden in mohindars dads code.

It occured to me but you also see the black guy along with the guy with glasses (cheerleader dad) in a preview of the upcoming episodes. hmm…I think he may be someone that works for the agency. It seems as if they caught the cop and took him to some lab, so if that black guy was sylar, why just kill someone and leave the body(brainless) than capture them for study like they did with the cop.

My roommate and I are both leaning toward the oppinion that Nikki (Ali Larter) has got a little Hulk in her. Whatever it is, its definitly a “Dr.Jekyl/Mr.Hyde” archetype character.

I’ve been thinking, her “power” is in her reflection, so far. And we know they’ll end up in New York. So she’ll be in the city surrounded by skyscrapers with lots of glass windows. That’s lots of reflections to unleash some whoop-ass on the bad guys.
Just because Hayden Panettiere has a fat face (god damn she is hot) does not mean she never works out. Look at BJ Penn for instance.

ooohhh, did they show all that in the 3rd episode? Cos I’ll go check it online. This week’s one was great, things are really starting to get moving. The cheerleader waking up sliced open was freaky, looks like her powers kicked in once the stick was removed from the base of her neck, right at the top of her spinal cord, whatever you call that thing.
Vegas looks like it is gonna be interesting based on the previews, gambling + time altering powers = awesome!!!
Anyone else been reading Hiro’s Blog on the website? Pretty funny stuff.

that is awesome, the sad thing is I understood about 90% of the game/anime references he made.

Me too (unfortunately)
gil, mana…XP!
I think people are forgetting the phone message between a mysterious caller and Monhindar’s father where the caller says something along the lines of “you made me this way” and Mohindar’s father says “stop calling me” and hangs up.
To me it seems pretty obvious that that was Sylar and perhaps he was the first mutant the professor “found”. I don’t think he works for anybody; just a guy who has gone bat shit crazy after discovering his powers.
I think he’s more likely to be the “Jean Grey character”, as opposed to Ali Larter like some of us thought. His powers seem pretty ridiculous so far, and he’s gone mental over trying to control them…
Always a critic I guess…but what I want to know is at what point do you stop jumping off of things like a retard in order to fly? If you couldn’t just jump and fly or take off from the ground, wouldn’t it be a pretty lame power?
And the cheerleader waking up post mortem was pretty cool/freaky except for the whole autopsy, and then removing the plinth from her spine.
I’m still wondering why the hell they would even autopsy someone who clearly died of a freaking stick in her head.
