While I was running cold water over a finger I smashed in the gym yesterday the most strangest Idea popped into my head. If athletes use things like ice packs, and ice baths to encourage circulation in injured areas could this same method be applied to the testes after a cycle? I know this sounds like a bit of a joke but I just thought I’d throw the idea out there and see what comes back.
Crashball
That would be painful and ineffective.
there was a thread on this a few weeks ago.
also ice baths do not increase circulation of blood to muscles but instead will most likely cause the body to push blood to internal organs to prevent hypothermia (sp?). I’m no doc but I’m pretty sure thats the case here.
most athletes use ice baths to reduce inflammation.
You could always try it and get back to us lol be sure to get blood work along the way tho

yes. exactly.
OP
Cold therapy will REDUCE blood flow locally.
You may be thinking of alternating hot and cold to treat soft tissue injuries or things like that.
Common sense would tell you that cold water or ice water would not affect hormone levels. All of us who take cold showers would be walking around with all sorts of problems caused by fluctuating hormone levels.
Why would blood flow matter? Isnt it more of a pituitary problem at the point of full suppression? Like you need more GnRH to stim the testes not blood flow
pituitary problem, Ah so the ice packs should go on your head instead. Thanks IFBB
‘We’ (my gaelic football team) use ice baths during the championship, as they increase recovery by getting rid of the lactic acid build-up after training.
I’m pretty sure the OP realized temp doesn’t affect hormone levels. I think what he meant was if athletes use ice to help an injury recover then u could use ice to recover your atrophied balls. It won’t do shit but I think that was the reasoning
