Wait a minute you’re not a EMT-FF yet? As far as dieting, who said you gotta lose weight under what requirements? How much weight and are they holding you accountable to the BMI charts for your classification of body type? I’ve noticed many Fire Department Wellness Initiative programs are using the BMI as the only guideline as far as gauging health. That really sucks ass.

Yeah BMI says I am obese 'cause I’m too short for my weight, or was it too strong for my height? lol…Well sad to say that you may have to drop the weights for now and just GPP yourself, cardio yourself, and try a go at T-Dawg 2.0 and/or even the 7 Tips to adjust your diet. I did that to lose some excess bodyweight as well when I wanted better results at my annual physical for the department. I couldn’t afford supps either so it was all food and water.

If you are purely interested in weight reduction focus on cardio and diet.

Perform cardio 2x per day. First session in the morning before ingesting any cals. Need to do 20 minutes minimum, if you can do more go for it. Heart rate needs to target 60% - ~80% of max rate. Second session is one hour after the last solid meal of the day (not the bedtime meal).

Diet must support your individual physiological makeup, but should be as clean as possible. If you post more regarding your diet, I’m sure you’ll get a lot of suggestions.
