Help with Carbs

I mostly use top round roast, sirloin tip or shoulder roast. and the greek yogurt i use says fat free, 100 calories, 14g protein per serving.

I prefer higher fat/low carb as well. But will I hurt muscle gains doing that?

I seem to be doing pretty ok with it

Ok thanks.

How many carbs do you aim for in a day?

It is kind of fun to watch

Zero

Hah! Have to be able to argue both sides if I pick one

Ok, I havenā€™t been doing zero carbs at all through my whole fat loss time, just lower carbs, cutting out white bread, etc.

** I canā€™t find the button to put the other posters comment in my reply. where is it haha

To quote people, just highlight it with your cursor.

For me, I go super low carb no matter if Iā€™m gaining or losing. I just manipulate fats.

@bulldog2 just know that everything is on a sliding scale. My norm is higher carbs, so then Iā€™ll eat lower fats. @T3hPwnisher eats relatively high fat, and does well on low carbs, so he goes without them.

The principles are to hit your protein targets, a fat minimum (somewhere around .35g per lbs body weight, or no less than 50g), and then fill in your total daily caloric needs with carbs and/ or fat to your preference. Over time, youā€™ll find what makes you feel and perform better.

To a degree, yes.

You can still grow, but carbs are extremely anabolic and fat is not.

Curiousā€¦@bulldog2 . Any idea of your actual caloric intake?

Id say im usually around 2700-3000 a day right now. Im doing pretty good losing fat, of course id like to be putting on more muscle while losing the fat which i know is difficult, thats why i was asking about carbs.

I dont have a target weight in mind, just that i would like to be able to get lean enough to see like 2 abs or something. After that ill probably try to up the calories a bit for more muscle.

Sameā€¦ I think too many people that say you canā€™t train intensely on low / no carb havenā€™t given the body enough time to adapt or not enough fats

Very much agree. Apparently, there have been studies showing fat adapted athletes have performed well, and you have examples like Dr. Shawn Baker setting world records in rowing on a carnivore diet.

A lot of world class athletes have adopted the eating style to great success. Even high-level MMA fighters. Iā€™m fat adapted but use Vitargo or Cyclic Dextrins pre workout sometimes. You ?

I train fasted.

I do occasionally, too. Another thing people seem to think is impossible or detrimental. Whatā€™s you main eating plan like?

Chaos is the Plan

On weekdays, I use a protein sparing modified fast up until my midday or end of day meal (depending on my training goals), which will then be a fat and protein meal. On weekends, I have 3 meals a day, all are fat and protein meals.

Gonna give it a try. Mine is just beef / eggs typically. How long is your fast ?

Until my midday or end of day meal.

omad ? ever experiment with carbs or a re-feed ?
