Help with 5x5 training

Can anyone give me a good 5x5 training split? I was looking through the site and previous posts, but I didn’t find anything that included shoulders. I was thinking splitting it between chest and back, legs, and then a 2 shoulder excercises with 1 bicep and 1 tricep excercise. Sound good? I am coming off of 2 weeks of mag-10, any ideas how to lose a little fat before I start the next two weeks?

There is a reason why the 5x5 splits do not mention any shoulder training!
A typical 5x5 routine typically consists of basic movements like the squat, deadlifts and bench press, these exercises involves a great deal, of your body, together they actually involves your whole body! That means going heavy on these exercises (and 5 reps. are pretty heavy) will put a great deal of stress on all the musclegroups including your shoulders. Shoulder (or triceps training by that matter), should be a no go, when training on a 5x5 routine consisting of the exercises mentioned above, since that would cause your shoulders to be in a state of over training, in no time! Have a nice workout;-)

Well thanks a lot, I knew there had to be a logical explanation.

It is not neccesary to train the shoulders, but you can for middle deltoid emphasis. Check out my article at Strength Training, Bodybuilding & Online Supplement Store - T NATION for a complete split.

I don’t like how the program Joel Marion has suggested neglects horizontal pulling movements. Another program that could be used is the 6x4 method.
