Ok I can pretend body types dont exist and that we all have one unique routine that everybody should all follow.
You cannot go 110% all body 3 times per week.
I don’t think you’re helping things.
Big compound exercises are scientifically proven to work better on beginners. Not to mention to the injury danger by not knowing limits as a new trainer.
Carry on and drink tea…

Seriously, you’re not helping. Like, at all.

Last person who tried to call out a T-Nation contributor turned out to be a 14 year old streak. Just saying
Thanks for the advice you constantly give on here. The best lifters don’t always know how to coach. There was a study a few weeks ago I read that analyzed the 128 NCAA FBS coaches and ranked them according to their own personal playing career. Not surprisingly, many of the best coaches were not very good players, and many of the best players were not very good coaches.

+1
I rank Chris up there with Dan John and Jim Wendler in terms of people who’ve influenced my personal training. To have experience like this on hand for no charge is priceless, I wish I’d had that when I’d started lifting.
I would never call a T-Nation contributor out over the internet, especially an online sleuth like Chris.
There are some pretty unflattering pictures of me at the Super China Buffet floating around the internet. I don’t need to give CC any reason to go digging those up.

Chris, ignore the fuckheads calling you out man. Don’t let it bother you. You have enough respect on these forums. It’s not going to change.
These random asswipes will just come and go as usual without any useful contribution to help others.
It says so much about what a fucking loser a person is when he makes a random post just to put someone else down.
I appreciate that and agree. It’s not that it’s really getting to me, it’s just that this glass house-living, stone throwing doof combined with the dipstick commenting from the other week deserved some kind of reply. I don’t pretend to represent the be-all, end-all strength and physique master, but I’m definitely an advocate of at least walking the walk and being accountable.

I definitely appreciate the good words from you and Ecchastang, and I do try my best. But I’ll be the first to say this is a generous overstatement, like saying your favorite chefs are Ronald McDonald, Mario Batali, and Julia Child. Many thanks though.

2Jar, you’re too modest. You’re doing fine. Maybe going a little heavy on the carbs, but I’m sure you earned 'em.
I can’t say i know close to as much as some people who have replied to your thread already but like someone mentioned, Stop wasting your money on so much supplements. Most that money you spent could have went to a week or two of food. Stop worrying about what that " Guy " at the gym says he taking to get big.
My biggest mistake when i started was thinking i was eating enough and frequently. I wasn’t. NOT even close. Sit down take an hour out of your time and manage your money so you can figure out were it really needs to go.
Okay, so I’m back on track here. Got caught up with some overtime, got a nasty sinus infection and I’m back on track. I’ve decided to opt for the Waterbury Method http://www.T-Nation.com/workouts/Waterbury-method - from this site. Do you guys agree this will be an effective mass gaining program?
As for what I eat. Here’s what I plan on eating tomorrow:
Breakfast: 2 whole and 3 egg whites and one piece of sprouted 7 grain bread. Banana
Snack: Unflavored yogurt and kiwi.
Snack: Chicken and grapefruit
Lunch: Chicken breast, mashed potatoes, spinach salad
Pre workout: Creatine, amino supplement, orange
Post workout: Egg White protein shake, banana w/peanut butter
Dinner: ??? Haven’t decided yet. Probably just a meat, potato & Salad

That is a very solid program. Waterbury knows his shit. Follow it to the letter and you should be fine.
What you plan on eating doesn’t matter one bit. It’s what you eat that matters. I don’t want to know what you expect to probably eat tomorrow, I want to know what you actually did eat yesterday. I will say, though, it’s probably not a good sign that you still have an “I don’t know yet, maybe this or that” for part of tomorrow’s/today’s menu.
Other than that, just make sure your protein in on point and your total calories are enough. Regardless of “the plan”, if your weight doesn’t go up weekly, you need an increase.

If you said “this is what I ate yesterday”, fine, no problems, nothing to see here folks. “what i plan to eat” means nothing though. Just like “what i plan to lift” or “who i plan to sleep with”, it’s meaningless until you do it.
Yeah, I ate what I said I was going to, with some chicken and rice w/salad for dinner and another egg white protein shake before bed… Trying to gain weight though, should I skip the 15-20 minute medium cardio on off days?

Or just eat more.
That daily diet plan sounds very boring and bland. Sure, you can gain weight on chicken and rice and egg whites and spinach if you eat enough of it.
Are you limiting yourself to “healthy” foods for any particular reason?
Ground beef, pulled pork and milk lend tend to be better options.

I would say you need to include more detailed info on quantities for people to be able to offer productive feedback on this. “Chicken” doesn’t tell anybody anything. Is that a whole chicken or a few slices of chicken breast? Likewise “meat” for dinner.
I suggest you honestly log everything you eat for a week, or even just 3 days. Either weigh your food (which I find to be a hassle) or learn to make accurate estimates. Plug it into an online calorie/macro counter. I think you may well find that you are still eating like a chick.

Egg white protein powder is probably one of the most unnecessary supplements out there. Either have whole eggs, liquid egg whites, or, if you’re using a protein powder, have a source that can’t be easily gotten through whole foods like micellar or hydrolyzed casein.
I’ll repeat: That is a very solid program. Waterbury knows his shit. Follow it to the letter and you should be fine.
Like LoRez said, be sure to keep the calories decently high that day and you’ll be fine. Read up on “G-Flux” for more info. Doggcrapp lifters are also known to keep doing easy/brief cardio during a bulking phase, something about stimulating appetite. Also, with full body training, basic cardio work can serve as “active recovery” between sessions and, once you adapt, can help cutdown soreness.
