I happened to glance over at your thread and thought I may be able to offer some suggestions that have not yet been touched on. Calories aside (they are simply a measure of heat) have you considered looking at other “not so obvious” things that may be derailling your progress.
I am a trainer who was taught under the Polquin discipline and as such I may have some bias but, you can’t argue with success. You may have heard of Biosignature Modulation.
In a nutshell it paints a picture of what is going on hormonally in your body by comparison of skinfold thickness measures as they coorelate to your tricep measure. CT himself has had success using Poliquin’s methods and they definately bear looking into.
Well, plug aside some things I learned from his teachings are a lot of fat loss problems can be traced back to poor adrenal function, poor sleep patterns, metal toxicity, and food allergies. If you want to let us know where you seem to hold the most fat I can give you some general guidelines according to his protocols.
The things I would immediatly take a look at though are 1. Are you roating your protein sources. 2. Are you getting the right amount of sleep and how do you feel when you wake up & through the day 3. Where specifically do you seem to hold most of your fat. I am definatly not discounting the importance of using the right diet and training but those things would be obsolete without a strong foundation.
Ergo, it wouldn’t matter if you were taking in 3500 kcals if your body was only absorbing 300 (that is extreme but you can see the point I am making). As for training if your goal is a solid 200lbs and you are not (at least for now) really concerned with packing on slabs of muscle or setting pr’s I would go for a program like GBC.
Again, I am Poliquin certified and use his methods for the most part with my clients. There are many ways to achieve a goal. I would like to note everyone has really offered you some great advice, they are all things to look at. Best of luck and keep us posted.
