My dilemma is this: I workout alone in my basement due to time restraints, it just makes things easier on me. Secondly, there isn’t a real lifter gym nearby. Anyways, I wanted to do board presses by myself. Has anyone seen a standard set of boards, normally used with a spotter, rigged for an individual to use alone? If so, how did they rig it? Am I insane to try board presses alone?
I just used a 1x6. I cut the board into 13in long pieces and put velcro on them so that I could easily connect any number of boards together. I stuff the boards under my shirt. I have heard of some people wrapping a band around themselves to hold them in place, but I haven’t seen the need. Sometimes I need adjust them a little after I am set up, but they stay in place pretty well.
Thanks for your help… that sounds good to me. I didn’t want any catastrophes once I started to go heavy. I think I’ll try the shirt thing and work my way up until i feel comfortable.
