Height on Incline Bench?

I was working out with my friend today, and we were doing DB incline bench. I set my bench at around 15 degrees or so, and he set his at 45 degrees.

Im sure that his version was more chest, and mine was more shoulders, but other than this what are the advantages and disadvantages to each?

I have been working flat bench for quite a while, with no incline or decline, so i figured I would do decline and incine for a while.

So is 15 degrees ok?

the more inclined the bench the more your shoulders are worked…a vertical 90 degree bench would be a overhead shoulder press and a flat 0 degree bench would be a flat bench “chest” press…why did you say yours was more shoulders and his was more chest?

i like to set my incline less than 45 degrees to keep more of my chest involved…i rarely do flat bench however…i just prefer incline db and dips as my chest exercises…and decline narrow (used mainly to hit my triceps)

mine was 15 degrees from vertical

ok if you want to look at it like that…

as for declines…id say skip those and do dips instead…

Waaaay too steep for chest involvement, for most people.
