Well, I’ve got my briefs, bench shirt, and squat suit. I am shopping for a deadlift suit and wraps. I’ve got a raw meet dec. 10th then a single ply deadlift only in march (the arnold). Between the raw meet and the arnold I am going to be working the shit out of the gear. Hopefully, I’ll do a full MULTI meet in april or may.

Yes that is the very same one! There are going to be a ton of people there who have never competed before. USAPL MD meets are hit or miss as far as how they are run… hopefully we won’t be doing deadlifts at 11:30 at night… yes this has happened before. haha. Wednesday- 11-9-11- Extra stuff/getting back to 275

Decided I want to get back down to 275 for the meet and set at least 3/4 of the American Raw records for the USAPL. I don’t even know if it would be official at the meet but a 710+ squat, and 720+ pull are well within my reach. The total is onlt 1850 and that is my minimum goal for the meet anyway. After how well my benches have been going, I may be close to that record as well. Anyway, I am going to start doing workouts like this on an empty stomach on days I don’t do ME or DE lower training:

Prowler Sprint Intervals- 1:3 rest- 90lbsx100 feet for 12 trips

Couple thoughts on my deadlift sucking right now:

  1. This is the first workout I have really been able to strain with a heavy pull since the tear, which is a huge improvement. I am just not used to the amount of coordination I lost after the injury. I am no where near as strong as I was before.

  2. I was 284 this morning which is about 15lbs heavier than I normally am. The extra weight could be affecting my leverages.

  3. For some reason, I am still sore as shit from tuesday. This usually doesn’t happen to me so something is fucked with my recovery. Usually my hamstrings back and glutes get pretty lit up from reverse bands. The only place I feel like I was actually pulling from was my triceps and weird places in my shoulder girdle. This is very strange.

Got a serious amount of shit to work on between now and the meet.

Hey man, gots a question about the comp coming up… in USAPL rules it states “no psychomotor stimulants 7 days before the comp”. What exactly do they mean by this? They aren’t banning caffeine and ammonia and that kinda stuff right?

Certain levels of caffeine is banned. Ammonia is fine, sniff all you want. They just dont want you injecting yourself with synthetic adrenaline and shit like that. Just check the WADA Banned Substance list and compare it with any pre workout stuff you might take. Odds are, you are fine. They are only going to drug test a couple of people, if any.
