Probably just too awesome, that’s all.

Solid pressing man, 430 floor press is getting crazy

This is getting crazy, very strong floor press.

Mind if I pick your brain a bit concerning a programming issue I’m going to have for my next meet?

Nice to see you throwing around the big weights again my man. Me, you, and detazathoth need to all get together at USAPL raw nationals to make fun of all of them and talk about multiply.

The only reason I bought multiply equipment is to only do multi and raw competitions from now on and talk a bunch of shit about it on the internet.

Well, here’s what’s up. I’ve got a meet Jan 14th, and then another sometime late april or early may. I’m going to be super busy with school next semester, and probably won’t be able to make my team’s training time 4 days a week. The last thing I want to do is to plan for 4 session and end up missing some. I’m also set on doing the meet, as it’s the first one our club is hosting, and the first multiply in eastern canada. So, basically: training two days a week. What do you think would be the best way to go about it? I’m going to talk to my training partners and stuff too, I just want to gather some different ideas.

( also, i’ve got all the specialty bars and GHR rev. hyper to work with and stuff)

Well, luckiliy, I have never had to be in that situation. But, if I were you, I would still plan out 4 sessions split over 2 weeks. So, week 1 would be something like DE lower one workout then ME upper the next. The following week, ME Lower and DE upper. Then the rest of the week, work on mobility and try to fit in as many extra workouts as you can.

Look at it this way, you are going to have plenty of time to recover between workouts so you are going to feel fucking awesome when you do get the chance to train.

This might be the start of a one sided bromance

Skipped training on thursday because I woke up wednesday night to, what I can only describe as feeling like, a baseball bat hitting me in the throat. I had to go to the hospital to make sure I wasn’t going to die. And only got 30mins of sleep. It is one of three things:

  1. A sleep apnea episode… which I think is ruled out by the fact that my throat was completely closed for almost 5 minutes after I woke up.
  2. A severe asthma attack. I haven’t had a bad asthma attack in years. Cold weather+dry indoor heating=my lung functional capacity dropping to that of a 90 year old with mesothelioma.
  3. This is what I think it was: a layngospasm. My larynx spasmed and shut my throat for a few minutes, then went right back to normal. If this is the case, my larynges are a bunch of fucking assholes.

Nothing will get your ass out of bed faster than suddenly and violently losing the ability to pull air into your lungs. I feel this earned me a rest day.

Anyway, back to more important things:

Friday-11-18-11- ME Lower

Hip mobs for about 15 mins

14inch cambered bar free squats-
135x5
225x5
315x3
405x1
Belt
495x1
550x1
605x1<~~~~ blasted this up. Was my goal for the day but felt good so
635x0<~~~ for those that havent used a cambered bar, this things tries to break your neck as punishment for putting heavy weights on it. The extra 30lbs might as well have been a ton.

RDL’s- Up to an easy 605x6

Snatch Grip Shrugs/Snatch grip upper back RDLs-
225x25/225x25

Supersetted with

45 degree GHRs+ Light Band
4x a lot of reps

Hanging Toes to Bar- 2x6<~~~~ when you are 6’2’’ with long ass arms on a 7 foot rack with a ceiling clearance of 7’5’’ and the pull up bar is a 4x4 support beam in the middle of the rack, these are like something out of SAW.

Standing Abs- Blue bandx100 reps with a bunch of different variaitons.

More later if I don’t die all of a sudden.

I’ve always wanted my training log on here to turn into a homo-ertotic cyber-den. Looks like the wheels are finally turning.

Hahaha, well I’ve been trying to convince Aj here to come compete with me at USAPL Raw Nationals, and it’d be great to hang out with you as well and pick your brain, as well as shoot the shit about us 3 being 3 multi-ply guys that also compete raw. I hope you’re an NFL fan

If someone were interested in starting using the conjugate method in their training, what all texts/etc would you suggest they read/look into? Thanks

Louie’s book is good but it can become confusing as shit in some parts. I really liked “Block Periodization.” Even though its not the conjugate method, it explains periodization better than anything I’ve ever read. Do a search on “Tom Myslanski and Conjugate Sequence System.” It’s a paper Myslanski wrote in college and has excellent explainations for principles of conjugate training. Anything Tudor Bompa had written usually includes a chapter on conjugated training. The latest edition of “Periodization” by Bompa has some good stuff.

Or if you have a year of your life to waste, you could always attempt to read “Supertraining.”
