ill trade you some back for some of your leanness !
You are gonna have both soon!
I believe you are gonna look extremely similar to shredded dave tate
THIS…but i’ll still take some of your back HT.
Good to see the first workout went well. Do you feel like the pre-exhuast helped take some of the strain off of your joints? No point in focusing purely on absolute strength with you since you’re already so damned strong, so this will be a paradigm shift of sorts for you.
Good call with the chains on bench, that’s precisely what I would have recommended.
I imagine Z will have you crushing a good bit of HIIT, so we’re going to keep resistance training heavy (in our own special way) and limited to full body 3x/week. You know, since no one ever trained only 3x/week and had an impressive physique.
Remember the extra arm workout with bands. Don’t forget that, get those suckers full of blood at some point, preferably the day after your third workout of the week so you can have a full recovery day before the next lift.
This is really Awesome Mike! I am beyond excited for you, you are going to seriously kick some ass!
How tall are you HT?

definitley strong, the pre exhaust took a lot out of me, more than i thought it would, and i kept the pre exhaust very light, ( 50lb db for the decline db for example). i normally do snatch grip deads with 140-180kg plus 200lbs of chain for reps, and swiss bar bench with 120-130kg plus chain, so it was very noticable
gonna do the band workout for sure, thanks for guidance on where to put it in the week.

thanks man.
Remember, the pre-exhaust stuff is about muscles, not movements. This is a paradigm shift for us strength athletes, but if you can flex continuously with an even, controlled tempo and get a ton of blood amd a good “burn” in the target muscle, then you’re doing it right. Less is more when it comes to this weight on the preexhaust, so it sounds like you’ve got the right idea. Has Julien sent you any diet/cardio information yet?
no.
i have just been restricting carbs for now, until he gets to me.
gonna hit day two tomorrow, looking forward to it!

I was having similar thoughts.
I think the more progress, the more nit-picky you have to get with things. I think even more so for experienced lifters and athletes.

It’s made a difference for me. And it’s EXTREMELY easy using a smart phone app.
EXTREME macro tracking
Sorry for the derail. Go HT!
