HI guys, i’m looking for some new heavy metal music for training, i need some hard music, heavy music help to lift heavy iron. Actually i listen to hatebreed, dope, disturbed… but i need suggestions. Don’t say metallica, it’s not enough heavy!
gimme suggestion!!!
thank you
look at the topic “help TC rock the casbah” on page 2 or 3… there has to be some stuff in there for you.
Mastodon has an album called Leviathan.
It’s loosely based on Moby Dick, and nothing gets me whipped into a frenzy for a workout like songs about whale hunting.
Metallica not too heavy? Hm… Well, you asked for it.
Emperor, Burzum, Mayhem, Death, Six Feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, In Flames, Hortus Animae, try those.
American Head Charge, older Slipknot, Dimmu Borgir, Old Man’s Child, Some Rammstein songs, Opeth, Rotting Christ, ICED EARTH
Man, im a sucker for metal threads
Check out Bloodbath, Children of Bodom, Necrophagist,Decapitated, December, Byzantine, Meshuggah, Hereafter (http://www.hereafter.org.uk/)
since you already like hatebreed and the like can i recommend some similar bands?
Stampin’ Ground ‘Officer Down’
Onedice ‘Life’ If you can find this album buy it. 20 minutes of the best extreme metal ever. this band should never have split up!
hope that helps a little.
Fear Factory, Tool, Chimaira, God Forbid, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage and mostly PANTERA!
Pantera, Megadeth, Nile, old Metallica (AJFA and earlier), Slayer, Testament, Exodus
A few obscure death metal bands my friend was in: Slave Trade (note it’s actually not a racist reference as their singer is black, it’s more something about globalism), Christ Aborted in Nativity
You should probably enjoy Bloodsimple.
Metallica is not heavy enough but you listen to Dope and Disturbed? You can’t go wrong with old Metallica, Pantera, and of course Slayer.
I’ve been enjoying the newest Kataklysm album- “In the Arms of Devastation”. Here’s a music video of one of the songs:

you know… everytime these threads come along, everyone posts the same bands, same albums. so heres a list of stuff no one seems to ever touch on, but still falls into metal.
Artist: Album
Trivium: Ascendancy
Atreyu: Deathgrip on Yesterday or The Curse
From Autumn to Ashes: The Fiction We Life
Heaven Shall Burn: Antigone
Haste the Day: When Everything else Fails
As I Lay Dying: Shadows are Security
All That Remains: This Darkened Heart
Demon Hunter: The Triptych
Project 86: Songs to Burn Your Bridges By
band/album…napalm death - enslavement to obliteration, repulsion - horrified, terrorizer- world downfall, disrupt - unrest. some of the heaviest/fastest bands that ever exsisted in the grindcore genre.
One word…Vader

i can hurt your ears…
…what kind of heavy are we talking about here?
try these:
The Fall of Troy (experi-metal. if this shit doesn’t transfer some of the speed from this band’s veins into your lift, i don’t know what to tell you. see also: The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Locust, The Sounds of Animals Fighting, The Number 12 Looks Like You)
Norma Jean (straight up dissonant hardcore. not quite metal, but heavy nonetheless. see also: Fear Before the March of Flames, As I Lay Dying, The Chariot)
He Is Legend (fun hardcore. this band is great because you can feel their energy coming through the speakers. see also: Every Time I Die, Horse the Band)
Mastodon (metal metal. i hate these guys, but they’re heavy as fuck. see also: Lamb of God, Nodes of Ranvier, Poison the Well, Unearth)
Thrice (the newer stuff got a little softer, but check out The Artist in the Ambulance or The Illusion of Safety. both amazing uptempo albums. more rock than metal, but the heaviness is in there. see also: The Receiving End of Sirens, Chiodos, Underoath)
Refused (the band that started a problem back in the day. sounds like a siezure on cd. see also: Showbread, The Stiletto Formal, Test Icicles)
…and, last but not least, Me-fuckin’-tallica…
…ok, i’m kidding…
love,
jason
What I listen to for workout music(this stuff is very heavy and fast):
Children of bodom
Bathory
Dying fetus
Deicide
Skinless
Vador
Carcass
Cannibal corpse
Old in flames
Enjoy.

Refused is probably my favorite hardcore band. “The Shape of Punk to Come” and “Fanning the Hearts of Discontent” are simply perfection.
Fight:War of Words(Every cut a gem, non-stop agression, a masterpiece)–Megadeth:Back to the start(Capitol/EMI-72438-73929-2-2)–Ministry(Sire/WB-26727-4)–Mentors:Live(Mystic Records CD107)-- Blue Murder:Valley of the Kings–[And some “Old School Classic” stuff if U are openminded and/or find it useful for Cardio/;-]–Lee Michaels[cut#1;20min only](One Way Records/OW33642)–Mountain:Flowers of Evil(Columbia/Legacy/CK52749)–Deep Purple:InRock(Warner 1877-2)–Grand Funk(Capitol/72435-39381-2-3)…These’ll get U thru for a while…
If you want something different, try Finntroll or Nokturnal Mortum. Grey Skies Fallen is also very good, but not quite as heavy as a lot of the others mentioned.
Go pick up MTV’s Headbangers’ Ball-The Revenge 2 CD set. Virtually all the bands previously mentioned are on there.
