If you want something different, try Finntroll or Nokturnal Mortum. Grey Skies Fallen is also very good, but not quite as heavy as a lot of the others mentioned.
If you’re into Finntroll definitely check out Equilibrium. They’re pretty similar (folk metal or whatever you want to call it) but Equilibrium is a little less folky.

Listen to Drowning Pools new album Desensitized pretty much heavy all the way through. Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera will definitely build up some aggresion.

Right now, I’m listening to Behemoth, Cryptopsy and Panzerchrist.

1349, Gorgasm, Immortal, MAnegarm, Marduk, Mithotyn, Impaled Nazarene, Suidakra. I also have to agree with some earlier posts, Dying Fetus and Iced Earth are key.

Good to hear from all the heavy music lovers! Here are some of my favorites that you could check out.

Death Metal:
Bloodbath- “Resurresction Through Carnage”
Misery Index- “Retaliate” (My favorite death metal album. New album Discordia out 5/16!!)
Kataklysm- “Shadows and Dust”

Hardcore:
Buried Alive- “Last Rites”
Full Blown Chaos- “Wake the Demons” and “Prophet of Hostility”
Terror- “Lowest of the Low”
Ringworm- “Justice Replaced by Revenge” (best hardcore album that came out in 05 in my opinion)
Blood for Blood- “Serenity”
Give Up the Ghost- “Background Music”

…and a couple of metal classics to check out as well

Carcass- “Heartwork”
At the Gates- “Slaughter of the Soul”

a few suggestions. Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold (A7X) if you like the pounding double-bass sound, works for me.

American Head Charge, older Slipknot, Dimmu Borgir, Old Man’s Child, Some Rammstein songs, Opeth, Rotting Christ, ICED EARTH
I saw Opeth in Sydney last week. Fucking UNBELIEVABLE!!! In my top 5 gigs.

I find Metallica doesn’t get me amped enough either.
Check out: Sybreed, (insane, heavy industrial), Chimaira (their newest self-titled is absolutely ripping), Soilwork, Disarmonia Mundi, In Flames, Mushroomhead and The Haunted (their lastest, Revolver, is balls-out thrashy goodness). I’ve got more, but those are the ones I’m playing lately.
