Heavy Bag Stand for an Apartment

That doesn’t suck?

I have a heavy bag that used to hang in the basement of a restaurant I worked at. I want to set it up in my apartment, but from what I’ve experienced, bag stands always seem to suck. I’ve worked with some like these:

From what I recall, it was pretty bad as a speed bag stand, and also pretty bad as a heavy bag stand. Anyone have any ideas to make it better or any other suggestions?

Shadowbox and do other fighter type work outs in the apt till you find a boxing gym. Not much help I know, but you could just piss away your deposit and get a wall hanger like on of these:

i dont like stands ,for one reason you cant move around the bag. Also it teaches you to become a robot boxer with no movement.Hang from beam or rafter, cut out the drywall then patch it up when you leave.Double end bag is good also the cobra bag,it has a rebound spring in it.

JUNK

no doubt, but what are you left with?

Heavy bags are ment to hang. Footwork is a very big part of boxing. Stands suck. They are pretty close to useless in my opinion.

Maybe you should hang it from a tree outside.

Hanging it anywhere public is not really an option. I’m 14 floors and a short walk from the nearest tree. Would kind of be a pain to set it up and then bring it back. I was thinking being able to hang a bag in the apartment at all was better than nothing at all. But if that’s really my only option, then maybe not. For now the punching bag is really only serving as a large sand bag. Maybe it’s the best I can do.
