My favorite is that, for whatever reason, the personal trainers decided the new best thing was to do the battle ropes with an underhanded grip. So now it just looks like they’re violently jerking the ropes off.
There is always some seriously crazy shit going on at your gym lol. I’d love to train there just so I could be entertained between sets.
Your gym looks awesome and insane at the same time! I love the contrast between you and your training partners and the (very slow) agility ladder people.

Nice lifting. I love the jeans and no shirt look!

Who was you lift off guy? You cheated those presses were double belted!!! (really good pressing Chris)

Thanks Vik! I can’t remember the guy’s name, he’s really nice, but Chia and I nicknamed him Private Partials, because virtually all he ever does is like, really small ROM partials…

Squat:
45 10x
135 5x
225 5x
275 3x
315 3x
365 1x
405 2x I just felt like throwing the belt back on and hitting this. It wasn’t a great set, but two reps unwrapped at that weight is pretty alright for me.

Bench:
45 10x
95 10x
135 5x
185 5x
225 5x
285 3x
285 3x
285 3x
285 3x
285 3x

Here’s the squat set:

Got way forward on my second rep, which made it much more difficult than it should have been.

Deadlifts Paused at the knee (beltless):
135 5x
225 5x
315 3x

Here’s my last set of paused deads:

With a cameo by my good friend Quadzilla.

DB Varying Incline Press:
65’s 12x completely vertical bench
65’s 12x very steep incline
65’s 12x slightly less incline
65’s 15x slightly less incline
65’s 15x standard incline
65’s 18x slightly less incline
65’s 18x flat bench

Pullups:
BW x15
BW x15
BW x15
BW x15
BW x15 pullup volume PR

Cardio Circuit:
20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest cycling through 4 exercises: pushups, burpees, curls w/ 65lbs, cable rows
Did that for 10 rounds, so it took exactly 20 minutes

Here’s the top bench set. WARNING: You may want to play this with the sound off. The room this is in is like a fucking echo chamber or something.

Anyway, that is probably the single best set of bench press I have ever done from a form standpoint. I got very tight and was finally able to put into practice what Chia had been telling me to do which is forget about leg drive and just maintain my lower body tightness throughout. The key cues for me are start with feet wide, push myself farther down the bench, drop my knees as low as possible, squeeze my glutes and squeeze the bench with my quads. I’m writing that mostly for me to come back and read if I need to lol.

Where was that? Lones puts his feet like that on bench too, but still is able to get some drive also…

That was at the Walker Springs Rush today. I’m wondering if their bench isn’t a touch higher than the competition bench at NL, because I seem to have an easier time getting my knees low on that one.

Yeah I noticed that it looked a bit higher, but I didn’t want to piss on your parade. You seemed really happy to find that perfect form. lol

I noticed because this happens to me at one particular gym that has a higher ‘regulation’ bench as opposed to crappy commercial gyms. It’s the only Bench I can actually get my knees lower on that doesn’t require my feet not being tucked up under my torso, and as a result I feel 10x stronger.

Prettay awesome lifting going on in here, especially the squats (although I always seem to think that since my squat sucks).

Also I think you’ve inspired me to try standing ab rollouts. I may hate you later.

There seems to be some pressing volume being hit in here wow

Dude I was really surprised when those battle ropes just exploded from your body when you were setting up for that set.

Also, awesome bench.

Here’s one of the 300lb sets:

This bench is definitely lower, but I can still get the same setup as I did at the other place. It’s just much less comfortable doing it on that one. I’ll have to get used to it though, because unfortunately that’s the exact bench they use at SPF meets.

I am so sore.

Wouldn’t say I hate you though, I look forward to getting better at these things.
