Time again for a new log after the second one is full. Two complete workout logs with no breaks in training spanning the course of 1 year 8 months with no sign of stopping.

I train a lot. Can’t say I have that much to show for it… but if I can’t be strong I can at least be a tryhard lol.

I was 3 years old when I saw this movie for the first time.
I grew up playing football, watching football, being a football player for halloween, wearing my Cleveland browns gear 24/7. It was all I did when I was a kid. I grew up and forgot about this movie, and realized my team sucked. Football became a very popular and political thing that everyone all of a sudden seemed to know more than me about, and I have moved on to baseball almost entirely.
One day I was feeling like quitting lifting because I was just getting worn out, and this was on TV in the other room. I heard the score and I remembered all those good feelings from my childhood. (My house was full of Notre Dame football fans. We watched this movie at least once a week for a long time.)
This song is the basis of my squat day playlist now.
My lifts might not be shit to some people, but I am willing to risk a lot to be one of those war story guys some day who talks about the days when “I was as big as you are, man I was a stud back then.”
I don’t ever want to look back on my life and say that I didn’t try.
Be proud man. YOU lifted those weights. You EARNED them.
Deadlift: I went with yet another form lol. Tried a little Benni Magnusson style.
135 5x
225 5x
315 3x
405 8x
405 8x
405 8x That’s a dead stop rep and volume PR. Not overly difficult; pretty darn happy with today’s pulls.
Beltless TnG Stiff Leg Deadlift:
365 10x
365 10x I get a lot out of “touch and go”. Big, big difference between that and deadstop reps.
I think I may keep the weight there for the next couple weeks and see how much I can up the volume. Like 5 sets of 8 with 405 and 4 sets of 10 stiff leg with 365.
Barbell Rows:
315 5x
315 5x
315 5x used all kinds of body english and just some good ol’ nasty form lol
V-Bar Pulldowns:
3 sets of 10
Chest Supported DB Rows:
115’s 6x
115’s 6x wow this was heavy
70’s 20x
The upper back strategy for today was to use way more weight than I could actually handle with any semblance of good technique and just throw some iron around haha.
EZ Bar Curls:
90 12x
90 12x
90 12x
Cable Curls:
4 sets of 10
I told myself I would do some ab wheel while I watched TV when I got home. I did watch TV. I didn’t do ab wheel though.
