Has Fedor Ever Been in Trouble?

On his feet I mean.

(We all know the vicious overhead suplex Randleman laid on him.)

I can only think of 1 time he was knocked down and that was against Fujita. Fujita had him wobbly but decided to take it the ground and couldn’t finish.

On the ground Mark Hunt had him in a kimura for a couple of minutes but we know Hunt isn’t a sub guy, so I don’t think that qualifies as trouble. And of course, Fedor showed him who was boss when he in turn submitted Hunt with a kimura.

So, my question is, has Fedor ever been in trouble standing?

I think once for a split second when Randleman dumped him on his head. A lesser man would have been broken in half, but Fedor turned the situation into an armbar.

Well, that big BJJ Player, Arona, didn’t look to shabby against him. Could have been that Rings had different rules regarding strikes on the ground etc, but Fedor would have lost in the UFC against an american ground fighter with that performance.

But really in trouble aside from the Fujita bout? I think not.

“The Law” had Fedor in trouble. He opened up Fedors left eye scar tissue seconds into their fight and essentially put him on a timer to finish the bout.

Of course he went on to armbar Lindland within 2 minutes, but had the fight gone on Fedor could have possibly lost due to the cut.

Only time I saw him in trouble was the fight with fujita like some one stated already. That suplex by randleman wasn’t shit for Fedor, being that in judo that’s basic shit to learn how to land when thrown.

Honestly I’d like to see Fedor fight his brother. I know it would never happen, but it would probably be some crazy shit. Them knowing each others every move and thought process. Aleksander holds it down in the ring to.

I’d also say only Fujita, whereas I agree with the comment on the Lindland fight as well.

I recall someone on another thread stated Arlowski, but I’d barely call that “in trouble”.

Not to mention grabbing the ropes a few times to keep from being taken down.

arlovski made the leap of death yesterday =)

Yep, he sure did. He was doing well with his boxing up until that. Probably not the technique of choice against a fighter like Fedor.

Not on his feet, a fighter that gave Fedor a run for his money tho was Matt Lindland.

I don’t know why they paired Fedor with Sylvia and then Arlovski, considering Sylvia beat Arlovski…

Oddly too the only dude in yesterday’s promotion who should get a shot against Fedor again was Lindland.

fedor got beaten a few weeks ago in the world sambo championships.
He said he did not prepare enough for it due to all the travelling and such, so there you go lol. The man was beat lol

Barnett has the tools to give him trouble and with Mir’s improved boxing who knows but at this stage I have stopped predicting upsets against Fedor.

Law is a middle weight and got knocked the fuck out by Belfort. Plus Arlovski is much better than Sylvia now in my opinion and even though he lost he made 1.5 million to Fedors 300,000 plus 250,000 for thw win.

Yeah, it’s too bad because had he not gotten overconficent/reckless with that flying knee attempt, I honestly think he could have pulled out a decision (or possibly even KO) against Fedor the way the fight was going. I’d love to see him get another shot at it.

I agree with whoever said that Barnett has the tools to possibly give him some trouble. I honestly think that in a couple years Lesnar would give him some serious trouble as well (if he continues to improve and round out his game).

yaeh, but will fedor compete in a few years?

Same. I was gutted the way the fight ended. I was looking forward to seeing it go on for a few rounds! Arlovski looked great…up until the knee…

was it a knee or a pirouette, don’t you genreally keep your guard up while throwing a knee, pulling your hand across your face.

oh well, arvloski usually looks good til he gets hit in the face, that is one of his only faults and not much he can do about that shut off button he has.

Fedor reminds me of Mongo off of Blazing Saddles, “Don’t shoot him, it will only make him mad.”

No, he didn’t. M-1 runs the same tax evasion scheme with it’s foreign fighters that K-1 does.

10 points to that man for a cool reference!
