I plan on going to Greece over the Summer, and I was curious to see if any of you guys have been to Weightlifting gyms there exculsively for your sport. I may be a powerlifter but It’s a dream of mine to train at one of those facilities.

Me too, or someone post here. I’ll be there from July-August sometime. That is the time to go b/c more Euros will be there (that’s when they go on vacation, right Koing?)
Anyways, I would also like to lift with Pyrros Dimas, please let me know if this is possible. 
And Det we should meet up and lift and listen to death metal on the beach on a stereo and freak Greeks out. No ghey. Koing you can play too.
I will ask my Greek friends/cousins over there if they know of anything, one guy might because he and me talked lifting all the time 2 yrs ago. I will be in Athens for a short while, and then also in Porto Rafti (awesome) and the islands.

I just saw the Pyrros Dimas thing. He is now the president of the greek weightlifting federation and as far as I know, he doesn’t train anymore except to stay fit. He has a lot of work to do reviving the sport after the last drug scandal when most of the greek national team guys tested positive.

I don’t know what happened to the reply I made. Damn buttons!! Anyway, I had just send a reply that I will post info in about 3-5 weeks time. We have a small (and the only!) weightlifting club here in Luxembourg. We are 5 masters 4 seniors and 3 juniors. One of our juniors, Jason a 54kg 16 yrs old, is going to Athens for Easter and our coach who was an athlete at the ''Panellinios" club has arranged for him to train there. They have some pretty strong athletes and it will be a great experience for him.

Lazar, do you how accessible it would be to watch Dimas workout or pay him coach someone for a session? How would that be arranged? Ive tried emailing the Hellenic WLF but they dont respond to emails.

OK… know any places in near Athens (Ilioupoli) or Porto Rafti?
I’ve had to cancel a training week in Finland due to not enough cover at work! Doh!
A few NZ lifters and Aussie lifters are there currently on a training camp.
