Thanks OG
Today I am still feeling ill and expelling wonderful chunks of my lungs but the work must go on. Last night lifting was atrocious and I felt like crap the whole time but still managed to feel like I did something and my body is feeling it today.

Decided to move ME bench day to Monday to try and make the most of recovered energy from weekend rest for benching. It didn’t matter yesterday though because the bug was playing havoc with my body.
Last night I had a rebound effect with my heavy cold getting the boot for a couple of hours following a big cup of coffee and good supplements. I was able to have my first good lifting since last week.

Had a great hour of lifting and then I felt failry run down the rest of the evening. This morning my body aches but that is to be expected and I think my illness is almost gone. Feeling much less congested and my head aches much less.
Today I felt like a weight had been lifted off my entire body, I could breathe almost completely clearly, and my body barely ached. Lifting went well for a good change.

Felt even better than Tuesday. I may have kicked the bug after a week of feeling the ick.
Strangely run down today but I managed to lift for a short round. I had to rush because it’s my wife’s birthday weekend and she went out for a girl’s day so I am home watching the young ones.

I just flat ran out of steam after the 500 lbs deadlift. Maybe next week will be better.
How you doing chobbs? I post every week but my entries don’t get much attention most likely due to the tedium and blah nature of daily grind. Working towards this next powerlifting meet is proving challenging with several speed bumps already.

Lol. I check your log every time I log into T-Nation. I love reading about the weight you are moving because it is a constant reminder to me of what is possible when you really dedicate yourself to a goal.
I go through phases where I read logs but don’t comment. Everybody should realize that their logs are probably visited way more than they know. I struggle with keeping my own log because I just can’t move any weight and it seems silly to post. But probably most of us who aren’t putting up record-breaking numbers feel that way.

Pretty good thanks, mowing season is starting to pick up so training times are inconsistent and separator but you know that whole story
Its no sweat, I know everyone is busy with life. Sometimes I don’t get to post on any one else’s thread for a week because I am so busy. And it is true sometimes the input in my thread is just the daily motions so a post isn’t really expected but greatly appreciated.
Dave, you hit the nail right on the head. It’s really difficult for me to give in and rest. I hate being ill or held back by anything. Being down with a bug just makes me angry at the bug for getting in my way.
Thanks Jack. I read your thread all the time for ideas and because I like watching your great progress.
kpsnap-Thanks…it’s the journey that is awesome and every step you make is worth watching as you fight for your own victory. Hopefully we can all inspire each other for the sake of being better all the time.
The cool thing about this site is there are a lot of experienced lifters. I learn something new all the time. At the very least many people here give me something to think about. Since most of us train alone, it is an important tool.
OG I appreciate it and I think I need to sharpen my machete.
Last night my lifting was off to say the least. I had a very long work day in the field and the sun zapped me. I tried everything to amp up but the body just revolted at my attempts.

Lifting time was roughly an hour. I was like a zombie going through the motions. So today I’m supposed to do heavy squats and DE deadlift variation however work and yesterday have depleted me greatly and tomorrow I have a killer work day so I am taking a break. I will do a bunch of mobility work and try to get a full night of sleep. With any good fortune tomorrow I will get done with work early and lift big.
Work nearly wiped me out again today and since yesterday I’ve been feeling a rather bad strain in the area of my psoas on the left side possibly related to a minor hernia. Self diagnosis tells me to take another day off and return to lift on Thursday and Friday. These 92 degree days are hitting me hard right now but I’m doing everything to stay hydrated and healthy. I want to lift but to do so would be less than productive and possibly destructive.
