Hardcore Essentials2

Thanks Crippler. Finding time to lift this past weekend was impossible so I’m back at it today. Taking care of my 4 year old and 1 1/2 year old has been it’s own kind of work-out and the most precious kind. This whole week I have to get my training in early because my wife is training for work out of town and I need to pick up the young-uns from their grandma’s late each afternoon.

Getting back to it.

Squats:(raw)
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
550 x 1(belt-deep)

Fat Gripz Extremes CG Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1(pause)
265 x 1(pause)
301 x 1

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

Squats felt great but I didn’t have the pause in me today for the 301 CG Bench.

Numbers are coming along nicely GV. Should be set for a really good meet.

Thanks Dave.

very solid squatting - nice work

I’ve been so out of it the last 3 days. Like I said before my wife has been working out of town and I’ve been watching my two young ones consequently my sleep patterns have been wasted. I am so beat up and sore from not lifting or the harshness of daily work that without enough sleep I have not been able to train since Monday. I will take tonight off and attempt to lift tomorrow and Saturday. Maybe these 3 days off will somehow be a big boost to me.

Finally returned to a night of lifting. I found it difficult to get going. The lack of lifting the last 4 days, dealing with the kids by myself, balancing work, and missing my wife all messed with my head and energy, I guess you call that cognitive dissonance. Once I got to banging iron the cobwebs dusted away.

Squats(raw with knee sleeves):
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
495 x 1(deep-belt)
585 x 1(deep-belt)

Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1(pause)
265 x 1(pause)
295 x 1(pause)
315 x 1(have to work on pause but it’s my biggest bench in years)

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

An excellent night. The 585 lbs squat is my biggest in a year and a half and the 315 made for a great evening. I have a month left to train for the meet in December so my expectations are to squat over 600 lbs and bench over 315 lbs at the meet. I still have to work on determining my deadlift as I didn’t have the energy or back to do any more lifting tonight.

Congrats on the Big night of lifts after a rough week!

Thanks OG. I’ve put in 3 hours of therapy since lifting last night with some rolling too. Hopefully, I’ll get another hour on the Marc Pro tonight so I will be mobile for work tomorrow.

Wow! 585 is huge. Good work. Looking forward to seeing what numbers you put up at your next meet.

Thanks kpsnap. I hope I can keep up the heavy work and make progress. This coming week is a light, back-off week for me and then it’s back to the 3 week intense phase leading up to the powerlifting meet. Scheduling, scheduling, scheduling…

Lifting was fast and furious beginning my light, back-off week.

11/10/14

Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3 sets x 5 reps

Fat Gripz Extremes CG Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5(paused)
230 x 4 x 3(all paused)

Standing Crunches:

30 minute lift time and I actually had energy left helping me have a great night taking care of the kids while the wife pulled a few hours of work tonight.

Forgot to post my lifting for yesterday afternoon so here it its:

Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3 sets x 5 reps

Fat Gripz Extremes CG Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5(paused)
230 x 4 sets x 3 reps(paused)

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

30 minutes of lifting in and out.

Wow!!! 585 is huge. With the heart pumping, 600 should be in the bag.

Thanks Crippler. I am pushing for that 600 squat and dead at the meet. But, in the secret in my heart I want much more than 600 for those lifts at this next meet. I was so ecstatic to bench 315 for first time in forever and now I’m hungry for more. Trying my best to keep focused on baby steps to bigger lifts but my motor is revving. It’s been almost 3 years since I was totaling 1600 or close to 1600 at meets and I want it all back and more dammit.
Decided to take tonight off to spend time with my 19 month year old and give my body recovery time.

Second that…its a squat number I can’t comprehend great work

Thanks Matty.

585 is a massive number indeed- good work
good luck at the meet

Nice work GV. Back to 3 wheel per side has to feel good.

Thanks brotardscience and Dave. Yeah hitting the 3 wheels felt awesome.
Tonight the lifting was fast and furious after a devastating day at work.

Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3 x 5

Fat Gripz Extremes CG BP:
135 x 10
185 x 5(paused)
235 x 4 sets x 3 reps(paused)

Standing Crunches:
80 lbs x 20

Began doing a set of 3 pull ups every time I go into the garage during the day just to get back into the groove of doing pull ups and maybe increasing my back work. 35 minute lift time and weirdly having some muscle spasms in my biceps and hands from all the work before lifting today.
