Hardcore Essentials2

That’s a nice session. At some point I’m going to have to break down and buy a trap bar.

Thanks Dave, yeah a trap bar is nice to have. I got mine for about $110 on amazon I think and it’s worth it. Tonight the lifting went really well and moved along quickly.

315 x 3
405 x 1

Felt strong tonight and that surprised me because the last two nights I barely made 5 hours of sleep each night. I need 7 hours of sleep to function properly. Completed all above in an hour and glad to hit the 290 bench strongly with a nice touch and go.

Felt sluggish today. Energy was low for lifting.

One of those nights when things are just okay and not spectacular.

Goto second video where i squat 508 2 nights ago.

Back to lifting tonight. Had to take 2 days off due to family visiting from out of the country and strained feeling in my upper back and chest. Today I was back to feeling great after quite a bit of therapy and rest. Video download screwed up and I have to work on getting things correct with u-toob crap.

Ran out of energy after squats. Just pooped I guess. One of those days.

This is me doing a 510 lbs squat on Sunday(9/7/14) night.

nice squatting. also, fat grips are on a whole different level. do you use the blue or orange fat grips?

@Hawkcapt-I use the blue Fat Gripz. I really like using them for the variation in bench training. I didn’t even know about the orange gripz. What is the difference? I’ll have to research the orange for a possible new edge in training. I think the Fat Gripz have made my grip stronger as well as my forearms and seem to make the benching more comfortable for my shoulders although maybe that’s just in my mind. I sometimes do overhead presses with the Fat Gripz for variation too.

Tonight I had low energy going in but had an okay lifting though short and fast.

Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
512 x 1

Fat Gripz Bench:
135 x 10
185 x 5(pause last one)
225 x 1(pause)
245 x 1(pause)
265 x 1(pause)

Standing Crunches:
70 lbs x 20

35 minutes lifting time and out…yeehaw.

the blue ones are fat. the orange are ridiculous. they’re both game changers. hope you saw the video I posted in my log. Beau was doing some 1/2 way up paused squats. haven’t seen him in a belt in a long time. looking like beau will be competing with us 11/15-16.

Been having a fine week until last night when my baby woke up around 4 AM and didn’t go back to sleep until 5:30. I was up an hour later for work(never really slept in between). I was amped for work today and fine until I got home and now my entire body feels like a ton of concrete has been poured on top of it. So, I am taking another day off lifting but I will get the required 4 days out of 7 for lifting this week to complete a short training week bulgarian style. Tomorrow, I am planning for a very heavy session.

I hop[e things are well with the gorillavanilla. From the looks of things he’s still strong as a gorilla.

Thanks Jack, all is well.

So, I received my orange Fat Gripz Extremes today in the mail and used them tonight.

Squats:(raw)
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
515 x 1(deep-belt)

Standing OHP:
135 x 5
165 x 3
216 x 1

Fat Gripz Extremes Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 1(pause)
265 x 1(pause)
275 x 1

SL Pin Deadlifts starting just below knee:
225 x 5
315 x 3
405 x 1
530 x 1

Standing Crunches:
70 lbs x 20

The orange Fat Gripz Extremes are great. I really struggled to hit 275 lbs tonight with the Fat Gripz X on. It’s like using a really thick bar and a bigger challenge than the regular, blue Fat Gripz. I expect to make greater gains in my grip, forearms, and any exercise I employ the Fat Gripz Extremes with.

I love your progression on squats and deads. Just toss on the plates!

Looking strong GV. Hope the fat gripz give you forearms of steel.

@ Jack-Yeah, man I just want to get it done so I ramp right up. I like training but I wasting time or taking my time isn’t part of the game.

@NHLFTR-Thanks, I’m going to be doing a ton fat gripz extreme training, maybe most if not all training for bench and some deadlift work. I even might consider doing some curls for the girls with the super fat gripz.

Beginning easy week today after 3 weeks of banging. I like these deload weeks every 4th week and it’s right on time for an off day today coinciding with a cold trying to get me curtesy of my baby girl.

Had to smile at this because my high school football coach used to say, ‘curls for the girls’.
