Hardcore Essentials

Really getting into the every day squatting and benching as well as other stuff sometimes. Redefining my thinking about recovery and capabilities.

T-Handle Swings:
100 lbs x 2 sets x 20 reps

Bottom Breathing Squats:
135 x 10(10 breaths bottom of last rep)
225 x 5(5 breaths bottom of last rep)
355 x 3(5 breaths bottom of last rep)
450 x 1(5 breaths bottom of last rep)

Fat Grip Bench Press:
135 x 10
185 x 5
225 x 2 sets x 3 reps(Upper body fried again mostly due to a lot of overhead tree trimming today)

Fast lifting session tonight. Weight moved well but I could tell from the beginning it wasn’t my best day.

I’m guessing if you have any issues with this programming it will likely be due to the nature of your work putting additional stress on your ability to recover.

No assistance work at all on stressful work days makes a lot of sense to me.

Theres a difference between squatting and benching every and then squatting and benching HEAVY every day…keep up the stud mode, love reading it.

Thanks Dave and Chobbs.

Those bottom breathing squats are unreal. You’ve inspired me yet again to try something new.

Thanks Crippler, we all are getting great info and ideas from each other.
Tonight I was planning to lift however my daughters both have a cold and due to their kindness I have contracted the bug. I’m fighting the sneeze disease with lots of food, vitamins, garlic, and rest tonight so hopefully I will lift tomorrow. My plan is to lift 6 days this week so I guess this is my day off.

Lifting was extra fun tonight and the weight moved well in spite of me still getting over the sluggishness of the cold I had the past couple of days. I had a partner tonight so enjoy the videos of the next lifting/fitness star(Not me) on the horizon.

Having my 3 1/2 year old cheering me and playing with her between sets-coaching her exercising and kicking a ball back and forth-was exhilarating and challenging. A great day overall.

Tremendous form on the flexed arm hang, box jump, and KB deadlift in vid 2

No doubt!

Nice work by the whole family. I didn’t know what a goblet squat was until I was over 40.

Those darn kids thinkin’ they can do anything these day…what’s the world coming to.

Nothing like little girls, god bless!

Thanks Matty and Dave.

No energy tonight due to being thrown out of schedule by financial decisions and my daughters requiring attention however I did my squats with success.

Emotionally and physically spent. Work was hot today with close to 100 degrees with the humidity factored in so that took something from me as well.

Love your squat vids man, very powerful and smooth…awesome work! and the little one is adorable!!

Thanks OG. Went to the beach yesterday for a ton of body surfing, playing in the sand and waves with my girl, and running with my uncle’s dog chasing and throwing a ball. So, I missed squatting yesterday but today it’s on…Football and big paused squats.

Feeling really beat up from my day at the beach yesterday however the lifting must go on.

Listened to the Dolphins pull out a last minute win against Atlanta while lifting which made me smile. First time in 11 years the Dolphins have gone for 3 straight wins to begin the season. The lifting was kind of blah but tomorrow is a new day.

Based on both of our recent training logs there would be a better chance of winning the Powerball than both of us pulling sumo and doing leg raises on the same day without talking to each other about it first but it happened today.

Not sure what that means but I’m hoping many PR’s for us both.

Oh! I love the vid of your daughter!

Your training is always impressive.

Thanks kpsnap, my daughter’s energy and happiness seems to be never ending and she is the delight of my life along with her 6 month old sister.
Decided to keep it short and simple with the lifting tonight.

SlingShot Bench Press:

275 x 1
300 x 1(I think it’s a PR since my operation)

Standing Crunches:

About 45 minutes of lifting with a good tempo on a rainy night.
