Thanks James.

I use dense foam outdoor pipe insulation. It’s already curved and works the grip especially well.
Developed severe sinus congestion due to high pollen in area so I have to delay tonight’s lifting because my head feels like it’s going to explode and at the same time a pillow of goo is stuffed up my nose. Having my head in the leaves, grass, and weeds all day sometimes affects me this way.
Last night was an excellent lifting night.

I did this routine in 1 1/2 hours which for me was extremely fast. The heavy squats felt great and fairly easy but the bench was a killer. I do all my bench work using a fairly close grip so my triceps were on fire.
Thanks for tip about using the pipe insulation. I’m thinking my hands will mend up nicely for deadlifting tomorrow.

I have done this as well. Ended up preferring the sponges because my hands are relatively small and had to lower my working weights using pipe insulation but either will serve there purpose of protecting your hands.
I have average length hands but they are fairly thick so the sponges sound like a better fit.
You guys are far more hardcore than I am. Haven’t had a callous problem in 5 years. Used to get one right by my wedding band, so started lifting without it.
This was tough as I had tons of chicks trying to suck my cock while I was curling in the squat rack since they didn’t know I was spoken for. I’d be curling and think some young, curvy lass was going for a drink of water when kabam she’d squat and fish out my whang…totally throws off your concentration. Don’t even get me started on the shenanigans that transpired when I’d bench. This was the final straw that led me to get my own gym in the garage. Got to be so much work un-racking the weight only to have one tart mount up while another spanked her…and this is at my office gym don’t forget…I’d have to rerack the weight and explain I was married…so…they’d get embarrassed and apologize and I’d think I had some peace and quiet coming to get my set in when kabam! 2 new harlots have slotted me up.
It’s really tough being me at times.

GV and I both have gym setups at home-nuff said.
It is funny when you read articles that talk about the advantages of home gyms they always refer to time and money savings and never seem to mention the “tart” and “harlot” issues.
When I went to a gym I found it very distracting to see women in scant clothing fishing for hungry eyes. When one has 600 lbs on their back or close to 400 lbs above them on the bench a woman’s tits do not need to be within seeing distance. I think women have the ability and right to lift next to any man but for the sake of concentration, purpose, and all things about training any one in the gym needs to cover up the giblets.
Last night the lifting went well though the resurfacing of my hands continued.

Managed not rip off any more calluses but I did rip a small patch of skin from each hand in different spots. When my hands heal I will have new skin everywhere. Deads were strong but I was trashed at the completion of this lifting.
Tonight I didn’t get going until after 9 PM and my energy was slug-like. Had a hard day of work in the sun and felt last night’s lifting dragging my shoulders into the earth all day. Went for the work anyway after a shot of coffee.

Good lifting that got better on the squats as I progressed but the first sets my legs were filled with lead. Bench wasn’t that great tonight but I didn’t miss a rep so happy to finnish.
Taken a few days of to recuperate from a bad cold and try to let my hands heal. I have rearranged the last few days of Sheiko to better fit the days leading up to my operation. I want to do a couple days of testing my new 1 rep maxes right before my vasectomy so I can spend at least 4-5 days resting before I lift again.
Last night the training was exceptional and miracle of miracles I did not rip any new holes in my hands.

All the deads felt strong but there was some minor friction burning in my hands which seems pretty normal. Bench reps all fairly easy and good form. I’m hoping for a few increases in my PRs next week.
Some well thought out statements in PWI. Be careful, though. They throw sand there.
kpsnap-I know they are so sensitive in PWI. I find it amusing that this site has forums for religion and politics and that people invest so much emotion in the material on-line. I find it fun to dabble but mostly I’m just playing instigator. Those PWI contributors don’t know that I’m bringing a bulldozer to the sand fight.
LOL @ covering up the giblets.
Solid work in here GV. Solid work.
james
Giblets is good but not for training and a rather non-threatening laugh.
Last night just about killed me but all things considered the lifting went well. Didn’t begin until 9 PM and finished exactly at 11 PM. One must be in for a long gut-it-out performance with this Sheiko, I loves it. Loves me sum giblets too.

Exhausted and tired by the end but I couldn’t sleep until 2 AM which was a blast because about 8:30 my 3 year old woke me up and had me pick her up to insert her in bed between me and the misses. So, my sleep didn’t not return to full sleep until 10:30 when I crawled out of bed. Perhaps tonight I will get a full night of rest. Hopefully the stars and biorhythms will be in alignment.
Last night I felt pretty good but by the end I was devastated and today my body has been trashed, work was not fun: felt like I was moving through quick sand all day.

I was supposed to do deadlifts from the floor to my knee but I opted for the trap bar full deads instead which fried me. I think I did some really good destruction and felt it today so OH Yeah! Going to take off today and tomorrow then do some max lifting, a quick personal meet in my garage on Wednesday to see where I’m at before having my operation on Friday. Then I’m off for 4 or 5 days to heal up and soon the contest training will begin towards my next meet on July 13th.
Tonight I decided to do some max lifting instead of all of it tomorrow. Some things went well others did not.
Bodyweight is the lowest it’s been in a while. I’m usually about 210 lbs first thing in the morning. Considering my bodyweight was 220 lbs a month and a half ago I feel pretty good about my squats.
T-Handle Swings:
110 lbs x 2 sets x 25 reps
Squats:
135 x 10
225 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 3
500 x 1
585 x 1
625 lbs x 1 (Felt my depth could have been 1/4" deeper however I was wearing baggy shorts so could have been comp good but I will work on getting this weight locked in much better prior to my next comp in July)
Bench:
45 lbs(Bar) x 20
135 x 10
185 x 3
205 x 1
225 x 1
265 x 1
300 lbs (Iso hold for about 30 seconds) [I wanted to press this weight tonight but I think I did too much benching Sunday night and my chest and shoulder tie-ins were a bit fatigued. I think I may try again Thursday or Friday)
I was disappointed with my bench but will rebound soon. I will post video of my squats as soon as YouTube accepts.
Do you have any idea of what numbers you are looking to hit in July, awesome squats BTW
Impressive Squat work GV!
