I’d like to say that was some sort of wave pattern for reps or something, but it wasn’t. It was the weird bar with the rings at the wrong width and I didn’t notice until after I loaded the bar. I hate that bar.

Second official case reported in Nicaragua today, let the coronavirus panic ensue! The gym told me that they are closing for at least a few days. Dangit.
So, the gym re-opened, but the wife hath decreed that I shall not be going to any such place - precautions or not. So… I have managed to find a bar and I’m procuring plates. Not a great bar, very chrome and shine and crap knurl, but it seems to be identical to one that I had in the US (I did something interesting with that that might amuse @ChickenLittle).
Friday 5/1
Clean and Strict Press
135 x 5
185 x 1 - my right hamstring had a lot to say about this, and the press was bizarrely awkward
185 x 2 x a bunch
I can guarantee you are better at it than I am!
I had a prototype thickbar from Mastiff Equipment (I bought from Karl Gillingham), which me and my training partner jacked up. The ends were curved from being dropped with plates on them (The training partner was hard on stuff). So I cut the ends off, undid one collar from the bar, cut the remaining thickbar to length and slid it onto the bar between the collars. Then I welded it to the collars. 2-3/8" thickbar with 1000 lb rating. It weighs 65 lbs and is awesome. Standard Olympic bar ends and all. A buddy of mine in the US has it with a lot of my other equipment, he does powder coating so all of my stuff is slowly getting blasted and coated by him in appreciation for loaning it to him to train while I’m abroad.
2 3/8 sounds positively brutal, but not sure about the power coating, better have some wicked knurling.
Zero knurl. None allowed on axles. Training with it made the 2" essentially the same as a regular bar at comp time, and it is SO much more comfortable for Zerchers and GM’s.
Not the best pic,but it’s the only one I can find atm.
Nice! Now you making me feel bad. My axle needs painting because it’s getting ugly…lol
It was bare metal when I was using it. I would steel wool it once in a while - which pissed off the training partner because it was a lot slicker like that. The guy babysitting the equipment is doing me a solid. He’s slowly doing all of my plates and stuff. Experimenting with different finishes and stuff.
Sounds like a good deal. I know some of that powder coat is slick. We use to haul cattle panels that were powder coated. We had to put stickers all the way up the sides because you couldn’t keep them on the trailer.
Saturday 5/2
Clean and Front Squat
185 x 1 x 2 sets
185 x 2 x 6? sets - not sure, might have been more
My wrists. Ow. I am surprisingly inflexible apparently. The weight was light, but it wasn’t touching my delts because I just didn’t bend that far. More weight might have pushed it down to the delts.
Sunday 5/3
RDL’s
135 x 5
225 x 5 x 5 sets
Oddly, my calves screamed the most (And I have never suffered from White Man’s disease so go figure)
Tuesday 5/5
DL - Conventional
225 x 10
315 x 6 - grip issues - no straps
315 x 10 x 4 sets - straps
315 x 7 - no straps
I hate the low end chrome “Shiny” bar. I feels like the knurling is just painted on for decoration and I don’t have any chalk.
