Wednesday 1/29
Squats
225 x 3
315 x 3
405 x 3
500 x 1
495 x 1 x 2 sets
405 x 3 x 2 sets
Everything was incredibly slow. Rolled my ankle on Sunday and the whole left posterior chain has been jacked up and tight since. I wasn’t sure if squats were going to happen or not. Couldn’t do more than two sets of leg extensions, too many people camped on machines with a line waiting.
That’s just strong.
Almost like walking in with street clothes and loading up the bar.
Thanks. You guys are really nice!
Monday 2/3
Bench
135 x 5
225 x 5
295 x 3 x 4 sets
225 x 10
DB Front Raises
65 x 7 x 4 sets
DB Side Raises
65 x 7 x 4
Side raises were not great. I turned my ankle twice last week and my whole left leg is jacked. Got a massage on Saturday, it helped for almost a day. It’s weird to bench with no leg drive.
Everything aight? Haven’t seen you in a while.
You call in out @kuda ![]()
Trip to the States. Was too busy to do anything fun and decided to play lazy for another week when I got back home. Trying to dial in my calcium levels and adjust things the endo wants adjusted. Mostly it just screwed me up for a week or so before I decided to disregard the endo and do it the way that works - as in I don’t suffer from homicidal rage when I keep my calcium levels in line the way I have been doing it instead of the way the endo wanted.
I didn’t know calcium levels could effect rage levels, interesting.
Anyway, glad you are feeling better.
Trying to clear the cobwebs, and get my calcium under control.
DL - conventional
225 x 5
315 x 5 - the last one popped out of my hands and I caught it and tried to bring it down gently. Ouch. Started cramping EVERYWHERE.
405 x 3 - used straps
495 x 1 x 6 or 7 sets.
Not sure, lost count. Felt light but couldn’t get reps, cramping and shaking and my hammies would not play ball at all.
Sumo
405 x nope. Pulled it conventional just because it pissed me off.
315 x 3 x 3 sets
That sucked.
Thursday 2/27
Incline Bench
135 x 5
225 x 5 x 3 sets
Bench
225 x 5
265 x 5 x 3 sets
I am doing cardio daily atm. Not a lot, but enough to push myself and offset age related loss of cardio.
I think it makes a huge difference over time.
I find it challenging to find the sweet spot of low impact on my joints and vigorous enough to get my heart rate pumping.
A little work consistently makes a huge difference for me.
I have the problem of basically 100% chance that I have calcification of soft tissues. Probably a lot of it. The consequences of hyperparathyroid/hypercalcemia for a few decades and not knowing it.
What’s your experience been with Metformin? Are you using it to treat something specific or in a general supplement style?
I ask because I keep hearing it recommended as a kind of generic anti-ageing treatment.
My experience is that I can’t take it. It crashed my Calcium levels low enough that I could easily have needed to be hospitalized. Unadvertised side effect - Metformin can cause hypocalcemia. It’s in the literature, but you have to look specifically for that to find it. Normal people can supplement calcium and carry on, I was taking around 1200 mg a day and it tanked me.
I was using it proactively, as my father and all of his brothers as well as his father and probably grandfather are/were type 2 diabetics starting in middle age.

Been sick, we’ve been joking that it’s Clovid-19, but it actually could be. I was in Miami airport at just about the right time to be sick from it now.

Didn’t throw up, but didn’t have the lungs for cardio today. Hopefully by next week.
Hope you get to feeling better.
Thanks. I am getting better, just no lung capacity atm. I tend to get some weird form a walking pneumonia every year down here, a little less hairy each year so I guess I acclimating to the local bugs.
