Hard Time Bulking with High Intensity Job

Hey guys, I’m new here and I was looking for some advice. I’m currently 18 years old, 5’10 and around 165 pounds. I have been training for about 4 years, wrestled in high school all 4.

My diet was never as good as it should have been and I mostly blame that for not getting as big as I wanted to, but just within this last year I have cleaned up my diet and routine. I am looking go get up to 180-185. I started working at a manufacturing plant 4 months ago and due to the 100 degree+ heat and humidity I sweat all day long. On average I lift 4000-6000 pounds of raw metal by hand.

Since my work environment is so stressful I’m having a hard time getting enough food throughout the day. I don’t get to eat as much as I’d like throughout my shift. What are some good snacks or something I could bring for lunch that would help my up my intake and help put on some pounds?

shakes

base of water
couple scoops protein powder
1/4 c nuts
1 TBSP coconut oil
1-3 TBSP heavy cream
full fat yogurt

fruit on the side or blended in

do 2-3 of those a day on top of what you currently eat

Well it depends what you have for breakfeast first of all.

For breakfast I usually drink a shake and eat some oatmeal with fruit and other various things depending on my appetite.

It takes some time, but you can train yourself into being able to consume significantly more for breakfast. You may also need to take a longer duration in the mornings to allow yourself to eat the food.

Oatmeal + whole milk + whey + peanut butter + banana in a big bowl–> potentially 1,500 calories.

You may feel bulging in your stomach just remember that you will adapt and the calories will help bulk.

Nope, the closest one to Illinois is apparently in Oklahoma. Bit of a drive.

I also wish In-n-out was this way. I had a hard time even finding a Hardees in Ohio; glad I moved a bit more west.

Yeah It’s just hard because I’m still not used to getting up at 6 am so I dont have that much time to eat.

You have to get up early and work hard all day. Fair enough. What are you doing after work? It’s not ideal but there is nothing keeping you from eating from the time you get off work to the time you fall asleep every night.

After work I eat and then go to the gym, eat again and rest. Eat some more and then eat some more and then sleep.
