Hamstring Rehab Help

well, this past friday was the culmination of a 3 week peaking phase to obtain a new pr in the deadlift. well, the warm-ups went well. 135 for 5, 225 for 3, 275 for 2, then singles with 315 and 405. i took a couple minute break and loaded up the bar with 500 lbs even. (old pr was 465.

in hindsight, i probably should’ve not made such a drastic jump but fuck it right) i grab the bar and pull with all i’ve got and it makes its way up, up to my knees that is, couldn’t lock it out. anyways, i was bummed and felt like i needed a sucessful lift to end the day on, ya know, leave on a positive note. this would later bite me in the ass.

so i take a plate off and grab 405, begin my pull and as i get the bar going, my hamstring felt like it exploded out of my skin. my cns was shot to shit and form was rather awful. anyways, been pretty painful but is improving. i was told to slowly get back into some slow riding on a stationary bike for a few minutes and generally just take it easy until i feel like i can get bak in the gym.

while browsing through bill starr’s strongest shall survive the other night, i read where he had a player perform squats everyday after a hamstring pull and he healed remarkably fast, but i can barely bend over to take a dump without pain. anyone have any tips on active rehab and recovery? sure would appreciate it. josh
