Dirk:

I play pro football and also just recently completed a combine. (trying to get a shot at the NFL!)

two things:

  1. I can definitely recommend Defranco’s combine video. I bought it and worked on the techniques for about a month before my combine. It helped me run a 4.45 sec pro-shuttle at 305 lbs. The bench, 3-cone, and vertical jump advice are also top-notch and will boost your scores immediately. The only part I disagree with is the 40 start, but if you don’t already have great technique, it will also be a huge help to you.

  2. If you’re not doing Dynamic Effort days, you are seriously short-changing yourself. The split i used before my combine looked like this:

mon: ME Lower
tues: DE Upper
wed: active recovery/sprint and drill technique (not sprint WORK!)
thurs: DE Lower
fri: ME Upper
sat: Sprint Work/Drill work

Best of Luck!
