I drink enough water so my pee is almost clear, as someone else on here said.
Tap water is fine for me; I don’t need anything fancy.

I don’t notice any difference between sipping water all day vs. drinking whatever just when I’m thirsty.
That being said, I do like to get plenty of tea in my system. While I don’t think there is anything magical about super-hydrating myself, I do believe that there is enough evidence supporting the health benefits of tea (I mix it up mostly between green, white, and black) that I want to work it into my day more.[/quote]
Tea is a helluva drug! But seriously, I drink a lot of tea also and think it does the body good.
I also agree, tap water FTW. Man up.
I drink water CONSTANTLY throughout the day and always have cotton mouth. even right after I take a swig of water. I’ve tried adding sea salt to the water and that does nothing to help. any thoughts?

I don’t know what the tap water quality is like in Kaleefawnya, but here in NJ it SUCKS!
We use a countertop distiller for our drinking and cooking water, then I add ionic minerals to each gallon we purify. The water tastes so damn good it makes you want to guzzle more than you need.
FWIW, despite the 2 gallons or so of water I drink every day, my pee is never clear, and usually has a significant yellow hue. The ONLY times my pee is clear is when A) I drink around 1/2 gallon of water within a couple minutes, and B) When I drink beer. Could be the high protein that’s tinting it yellow though, who knows.

What with all those yolks, I’m surprised you don’t look like a simpsons character ![]()
“Normally”, the stuff that colours pee yellow is urobilin, which comes from degradation of heme, that molecule that binds oxygen in your red blood cells. The rate of heme breakdown is pretty constant, so the colour of the urine is determined by how much the urine is diluted.
Since you get rid of some water by sweating (and let’s face it: you weigh a lot for your height, you lift extremely heavy weights and on top of that it’s summer), I think you pee pretty normal amounts and that the colour is therefore also pretty normal.
Beer: contains alcohol, which inhibits the production of anti-diuretic hormone and by doing so causes you to pee more. (Another way for the body to get rid of the “poison” alcohol) So since you pee more per time unit after you drink beer, less urobilin colours it, and it comes out pretty clear.

Do you take a multivitamin?
