These could be lies, of course.

I actually found some old boxing pics that I will post once my “e-challengers,” lol, want to agree to post pics of them engaging in some sort of organized fighting.
Go ahead. You have posted about this horseshit often enough. Perhaps it would help your credibility. You have backed out of posting when called out enough.

Please post 'em pictures.

Yawn. I have fought many times on the street and boxed in a ring. I have pictures of the latter.

Via PM we can exchange pictures of you engaging in some sort of combat sport anytime you like.

We can post them right here in this thread if you want to “prove” something.
Bragging about how badass you are on an internet forum and getting into the “my dick is bigger than yours” argument is gayer than bitching about douchebags at the gym.

I honestly don’t think anyone has the right to complain until (s)he walks in on leg day and finds some douche-nozzle has taken up the squat rack by sliding a free bench under the barbell and using it for bench presses when there’s a perfectly good bench not even being used! I can feel all my T aromatizing just thinking about it… Brrr…

I thought you were going to say curls, then link us all to the funnies thread.

You killed it =P.

For me, I usually don’t give a shit what others are doing. Who cares, you know? Unless, they are using MY equipment (well, it really isn’t mine, but claim it to be) or they are being dumb and asking for an injury. That is when I intervene and warn them about posture or ROM or whatever. Other than that, I’m usually in my own world… and so can you.

Agreed.

If your workout is interrupted in such a way that it wouldnt be if someone were using equipment properly (like curls in the squat rack when they could just as easily do curls elsewhere), and they refuse to move when you approach them politely… you should be annoyed.

If someone is doing something dangerous and posing a threat to themselves or others, and you genuinely don’t want to see anybody get hurt, and they continue to do so after you give them advice and explain why what they are doing is dangerous… you should be annoyed (and possibly talk to a manager if they are putting others at risk).

If someone is otherwise affecting your workout in a way that you cannot control, then you should be annoyed.

But if the only thing stopping you is your lack of focus… get over it. Let go of the “oh man I must be the smartest person here everybody else exercises so wrong” attitude. Get a music player, take some Spike, and focus on what you’re doing.

I just don’t pay attention to what other people are doing. As long as they don’t get in my way, it doesn’t bother me. Why waste the effort? I never attempt to give out advice because nothing good can come of it. Exercise is one of those things that everybody thinks they know how to do.

The only thing I hate is when someone is camping out on a piece of equipment I want to use. Plus I like to do circuits which aren’t practical in a commercial gym, that’s why I work out at home.

Fortunately, I have a great home gym. Platform for olympic lifts and DLs, squat stands, power rack, eleiko bar and bumpers, power bar and competition bench, modular bench for seated military and inclines, dip and chin stations, chains, box, bands, dumbbells, medicine balls, heavy bags, incline-sit up bench. Everything I need.

Alas, a guy asked me to train with him a local gym. The ‘POWERSHACK’ gym. Don’t know if it’s a chain or what. Anyway, what a crew they have there. I do not give advice. Ever.

I am always polite, though. Always say ‘hello’. Always respond with inane and casual banter when approached. I try not to say too much, though because of this one, hard and fast rule: 90% of the people you are going to meet at the gym are LIARS. It’s just a simple fact.

For instance: In this ONE Saturday morning training sessions, total time around 2 hours I met: 3 MMA competitors, 2 “semi-pro” football players. 1 former college football “All-American”.

A guy who was going to “walk-on” at Ohio State. Among these guys, 3 had “serious” knee injuries and could not squat. 1 had shoulder problems and couldn’t go “heavy” on benches anymore. The rest were doing their “light days”.

Funny. It seems no matter where you go you hear the same stories and the same excuses from the same types of fellas.

This is why I workout at home. I’m not trying to get huge like most of the people on T-Nation seem to be striving for. 170 at 5’7" would work for me. I’ve been to the gym before an listened to all my friends judging everyone else in the gym. Apparently, people don’t realize that not everyone that enters a gym is looking to be HUGE. At my height being lean is more in my favor. It’ll give me the allusion of being taller. I find it amusing when I see someone shorter than I that is 200+ pounds. Don’t they realize the wider their back is the shorter they appear. I’m guessing they feel getting bigger will make up for their lack of height.

I actually like my gym now. Pretty hard to believe because I am such an angry person, but my gym is really nice.

People actually lift. Lifting in this gym is motivating because there are some big people that train hard.

Today on my way out, there was a bulletin posted by the trainers. The bulletin said “are you doing only cardio? Then you are burning muscle for energy and causing your body to make fat. Sign up for a free consultation with a trainer.”

I found this staggering since every gym I have been to the trainers suck. These trainers actually teach something worth learning. NO, I have not had coaching from them, but I see them coach and I approve of their lessons.

Good gyms do exist.

Wait…

and
I find it amusing when I see someone shorter than I that is 200+ pounds.
Sounds like you do a shit load of judging yourself.

People like you are very funny.

Yes, it’s called short man complex, and I myself have it, being only 5’7. The way I figure it is if I’m never going to be very tall I might as well get as wide(with muscle mass) as possible.

True, hahahaha. The funny thing is that me at 200-205 at 5’7" seems to appear two-three inches taller to most people who comment on my height. Most guess 5’9" to 5’`10".

Train right and get bigger all around and them worry about aesthetics. Sculputors don’t start with just a little marble.
