Was just reading the original GVT article and the speed that Charles suggest for every rep is 4020 - eccentric - 4 and concentric 2.
I tried something similar before and it was flat out whacky. I hate thinking about how slowly i lower the weight and the thought of concentric = 2 seconds is just killing me inside.
If that program is worthless without those parameters, I’ll do them. No problem, but do they really affect that much? Will the gains be impaired if I just control the weight in the way down and explode it up? It is still the law of repeated effort we are looking for…anyone got any experience?
hey im thinking about trying the original GVT for a few weeks- but i cant find it. i used the search and the closest thing i can get is TC’s gvt 2000. is poliquin’s gvt on this site? apparently it dates back to '96. if someone could post a link for it, perhaps i missed it. thanks

Those speed parameters are EXTREMELY important. Your muscles shall be under CONSTANT pressure fo 50-60 seconds due to the whole lactate thingy.[/quote]
What “lactate thingy”, he mentiones nothing about lactate and its endocrionological effects on testosterone or other hormones and lactate production is not the main point of the program.
I do get the TUT point, but 2 seconds up, that is just weird. I don’t lift my schoolbag with a certain tempo, I just lift it and that feels natural. The same should go for the at least concentric portion of the movement. But Charles is the man, who I am to agree. Just noticed in his recent writings he suggest 1 second up or explosive.
Dez, just google for German Volume Training and the original Charles articiles will pop-up everywhere
