Strongman is looking like fun but no sumo

Check the aminos before buying. Often cheap PP will be stacked with cheap as fuck and basically useless aminos and low on the stuff you want (particularly leucine) - though you could buy that separately and add it amd it may be cheaper.

Time to take part in a real sport. :stuck_out_tongue:

I heard about that like amino spiking and stuff. What would shifty aminos look like?

Probably not in this case because it’s expensive stuff that is on sale by a lot like before they had Animal Whey for > 50% off.

The most recent one I bought seems legit lol

Dunno about the stuff from species nutrition though

There is an independent lab that does testing on a whole load of brands and then publishes the results “Top 10 best proteins for amino spiking” “Top 10 worst…” etc. I’ll see if I can hunt it down on the interwebz for you.

Edit: Found it. Labdoor. I know certain links can’t be posted, not sure if this is one? If so, moderators, feel free to verbally abuse me.

I got a photo of the info for the amino acids on the Species protein but Internet is bugging out so can’t upload

Still spinning my wheels a bit going with the flow until I move to Bendigo and start training 3 times per week.

Probably will be a super slow bulk when I go up there and take advantage of the extra frequency and opportunity/time to do more work to get some gains all over.

Protein shakes in morning and often before bed make it much easier to hit protein targets. Makes my tubs of protein run out pretty fast lol but is it ok to have so much percentage protein intake coming from shakes like for health and stuff?

Hamstring is feeling better. I’m still guarding it a little but there’s not much pain anymore even with poking. Definite difference in range of motion like maybe ten degrees. Bit of targeted ROM and light movements should sort me out for the next week.

I think I got my cues for squat, most for bench but sumo deadlift is a bit weird like I’ve forgot how to pull

Pause Bench
90kg x 4,4,4,4,4,4,4,4,3

Arch doesn’t feel as cheaty today and last session I stopped doing mobility stuff so maybe that’s why or maybe just in my head. Overall bench wasn’t really clean .

Trying out wrist wraps again. Jaisyn Mike’s tip of wrapping from top to bottom like starting at your hand it pretty handy I think

Sumo DeDLift

I probably won’t go ham on deadlifts because last session was 200 x 6 @ RPE 9 or more so I don’t think I could push things further anyways so I’ll take the opportunity to work with a belt and try to simplify and condense my sumo cues down or try some new stuff like different hip heights or a more explosive start.

Ended up feeling pretty shitty and the belt didn’t really do anything much.

OHP
50kg x 6,6,6,6 Rep PR

Ran out of time there and called it. Kinda a poor session overall anyways.

Yup. May make you bloated sometimes, but otherwise its no biggie.

I think a big reason why it’s advised to not get all your protein from powder is that you don’t get as a complete nutritional balance as if you were to eat different types of meats. You might miss out on the omega 3 from fish, the creatine from Red meat and the fats from eggs.

If you are still going to eat a decent amount of protein than supplementing with powder isn’t going to harm you. Hell most of my mates supplement with grog and weed and some powder they enjoy smelling so you should be fine with shakes

Illuminati confirmed

Stiff or flexible? Nevermind look at that price tag lol urge to impulse buy is not intensifying

More than 60 dollars… I dunno cos like wrist wraps don’t do much for me in the first place. I hear some people say you get like 5-10 lbs out of them but I haven’t experienced that

Wrist wraps are a bit awkward for me. They support my wrist and stuff but it feels like they prevent me from actively stabilising the wrist joint if you get what I mean

EDIT: then again my wraps are fraying a little bit (95% good condition is not enough) urge to impulse buy / replace wraps intensifies.

EDIT EDIT $60 feels like too much. Just impulse bought some things so give me a week or two and remind me lol

60 bucks seems a bit steep even for a free spending guinea pig. I guess I don’t value wrist wraps much at least not 60 bucks like I always thought of them like a 20-30 dollar cheap kind of thing.

I bought mine for $15 4 years ago and they are still doing good.
