Mate based on those DB presses I saw the other day I would think you press strength looks good. Where do you think your bench is at ? You hit that 140 yet ?
Ye…nah. Haven’t seen any clear signs or progress yet unlike on squat and DL. The DB press set with the 50s was matching me best. Mostly just been matching me best across the board so far.

Squats chugging along. 200kg x 6. Picked up a shoulder injury this week just when there looked to be a smidge of bench momentum going. At least can still push lower body well in the meantime.
Different kinda update… Bendigo Barbell Club is going well.
It’s our little pet project (between myself and few other peeps) that has come in very handy during repeated COVID lockdowns, allowing for continued training.
I enjoy training, having a good environment and network of likeminded people around so it’s been great. Developing the club is a satisfying hobby if a little expensive at times when we impulse buy things and will probably never get close to a profit (tho thats not really the point. Glad to invest $$$ for a good set up, environment and people).
For the moment equipment wise we are just about good: weights + plenty of calibrated plates, deadlift/power/squat bars, racks, benches, platforms and a hack squat/leg press combo machine. The Texas Deadlift Bar would have to be my favourite piece hehe. It’s rare to find in Australia and came from a gym with lot of good history and culture in powerlifting. Maybe the next upgrade would be a competition style bench (if we sell some stuff to fund the upgrade). Won’t need anything else until the club expands with more people.

Pause Hi Bar Squat:
165kg x 9
Pause Deadlift:
250kg x 8
270kg x 4
Sumo Deadlift:
265kg x 7
260kg x 9
Shoulder is no bueno. Gonna get it checked out. Will look to lock in a meet for end of year and see what we can do. 700kg total and 300 DL sound good to me. Lower priority but 260kg squat give or take by the meet wud be nice and not unrealistic the way we going

Finished off another training block with Melbourne Strength Culture. Wasn’t an amazing block because life and recovery and shit.
Highlights/PBs:
Sumo Deadlift: 270kg x 6, 275kg x 1 (290kg miss lel)
Squat w Wraps: 240kg x 1
Squat: 200kg x 7
Next block we going for more intensity/heavier weights. I barely have any practice at near max so the skill gains will be good.
