GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

From where? Thought they were sold out.

They are a bit uncomfy but will probably break in nicely after a few sessions. Plenty of grip and lateral stability foot whatever kinda stance and foot pressure u need.

Light deads today with double pauses @ 190kg.

Had pull ups / chin ups rotated in so after seeing @Cyrrex going big I felt like having a bit of fun with weighted chins. Went up to 45kg and not gonna lie this was a lot easier a year ago. We talk shit a lot but Cyrrex I respect your full body strength and athleticism. Thnx for the inspiration

Thanks for the nice words mate. And ain’t it a bitch how difficult it is to get your eyeballs over the bar with that kind of weight? It just sucks.

Ye those last few inches are a sticking point. Kinda slows down thru the whole last third of the ROM. Maybe it’s biceps that gotta finish it off. I don’t curl much so fair enough

I think that is exactly the reason. Your lats start to give way to your biceps, and that’s a pretty big task for anybody. Then you bring your knees up to get a little boost on the last rep, it sorta works. It is a strange feeling of failure, I feel a little embarassed in a public gym when I have to go into a fetal position just to get my eyes above the bar.

Isa last exercise for me. Just walk off like it all went according to plan. It’s all about the confidence

My gym alter-ego is already too big, it is good for me to feel some humility.

Best steak I’ve had in a while.

That’s kind of disgusting, mate. At least cook the thing next time.

Pretty meh sesh today. Haven’t had a good sesh in a minute dunno y. Worked up to a single on pause squat at 180kg and squat w wraps at 200kg which moved pretty slow vs what I’d expect. Low performance day I guess.

A power bar I ordered late April is meant to be coming in next week. Bit late lol but whatever I’ll sell oft my current bar it’s a good time to sell. Might donate the bar to local gym. We’ll see

How do you personally judge this? You don’t log your workouts in detail nor do we know your training plan and how what you achieved differs from what you/ the program expected. I think that’s actually what keeps that running gag about you running.

Relative performance. Roughly I know my max so each set can be compared against that via estimated 1RM taking into account weight x reps @ RPE whatever. Pretty much if I can move more weight betterer on average compared to any particular day isa low day.

Isa comp lifts or variation for sets x reps. I post up the big sets. Followed up with volume bodybuilding stuff sometimes but not much. Training plan is pretty much just that on repeat.

Doesn’t vary a lot rn. I have no expectations of each session and I think the program/app doesn’t either. We just take what’s there on a given day based off the apps prescription sometimes it bumps the weight. So I guess the expectation is to get in some work without overdoing it.

Okay so the app says do pause squat 1 rep top set @ rpe 8 for example? You then compare how that top set moved to your 1 rm squat or how this lift/ weight moved previously?
