I’ll be young at heart forever though
Hand is healed up well. Quick. Not bad at all in the end. Clipped off the flap of dead skin but still have a ridge where the skin flap started. Gonna pull with straps today see if it alright. If so it’s full steam ahead.

Been in Prep II (Strength Phase) for a while now I think like > 3 months. Decent gains on all three powerlifts and probably thiccer overall. I’m thinking it’s time to jump back on Prep I (offseason/volume/hypertrophy) still keeping long term goals in sight.
For the first time since lockdown started it looks like I’ll be able to access machines and varied equipment at McQuinns and Iron Revolution (may not be convenient to go if I have home gym stuff). So volume/variations gains to be milked. Kinda keen to change things up not gonna lie.
Life wise works out alright. I’ll be between Bendigo (rural) and Melbourne (metro) weekly, half the week in each area and studying my butt off (ideally) at all times. Not sure how I’m gonna set up training between the home gym, Iron Revolution and McQuinns. It’ll be a little expensi but I can afford a gym membership and casual rates elsewhere as well as training some at home to save time when needed. Hell 2x gym memberships seems workable.
The first time I squatted I was 26, and I didn’t start deadlifting until a few years later. You have plenty of time.
Yeah, I am hoping/assuming he is joking about the tren and stuff. He’s basically just a strong toddler.
Self belief is stronger than tren
Body Iron flat bench is in. Not the fancy product on the market but built solid enough for years to come.
Beginning a volume phase, looking to take advantage of gyms opening up again to access machines and other equipment. Gonna build volume in some comp lift variations and accessory stuff.
Nothing special today but had a good friend over for some bench. Hit Spoto Press, Overhead Press and Upright Rows with plenty in the tank to build on. Don’t see y I can’t have PRs on a bunch of assistance lifts next few blocks. DBs were great lockdown but I think I’m a ways off pressing the 50s for 12 rn
Pec is still feeling off so kinda glad to get away from a lot of straight comp bench and close variations. Bench gains haven’t been good through lockdown unlike squat and deads but was before Lockdown so could be a few things: well frequency, volume and exercise variation lol
Back in Bendigo and first time touching calibrated plates in a while. My mate bought a pack of 400+ kg worth of plates so will have access in Bendigo.
They felt heavier not gonna lie especially on deads with like 80% less slack to a pull out of the set up. Will be great to work with this set up again to develop better tensioning and patience in the pull. Definitely uncomfortable off the floor right now but will develop that with some time
Decent work today though as the volume/hypertrophy/variation block gets under way with PB pause squat triples and doubles @ 150kg and 160kg respectively with more in the tank.
Bought some frozen meals for $5 each. High protein, tasty and most importantly convenient so I can take em along with my to work/school on the go. Gonna be busy so every little bit counts
Looking swole as mate. Quality
All the down lighting and arm wrestling is working out. How’s ur training situation looking like? Any other places in the area to train at. Do u miss the other equipment. I’m lucky that none of the gyms I’m going to are gonna have booking requirements but none of those are close to u (IR and McQuinns in Bendigo)
Training is good. 12 weeks to Vic states so the program will be very similar to the last X weeks. I don’t really need any more equipment than I have so it’s all good. I do miss things like heavy dumbbells and a couple of machines but I can get by without them. Another friend of mine also has a studio within 1km from my house with proper bars and calibrated weights so I do have an option to train with the boys if I want to. Still hoping the normal gym will relax the restrictions some time in July.
Most important thing is starting up the calf training again
After the Comp in September it will be hypertrophy all the way to Xmas, including guns and calves
You pullin on a deadlift bar? and if so how far out are your feet?
Yes noodle bar. Not plate to plate. Little bit inside
What’s the deal with that? I remember a while back you were having pec issues, is it like a chronic thing or you actually injured it?
Spoto press might not be the best choice if you have pec issues, I once thought I tore a pec doing those (seems like it was just a cramp) and Robb Phillipus tore one for real. You’ve been warned.
Not sure. Before was like recurring mini pec strains. This is a bit different. Hard to describe but is off
If it was a serious tear there would have been bruising and it could look deformed, if that’s not the case then either a minor strain or you have developed what they call “trigger points” in the pec, basically a knot in the muscle. Myofascial release should help for trigger points, lacrosse ball or massage stick are the way to go.
Probably better not to push bench too hard until you get that sorted out. You have long arms and are predisposed to pec issues, so a closer grip and big arch would be a good idea.
