Just saw your cheating DL 270 for a double, looked pretty good and strong Mate.
I like the reflection on doing 300 with the DL bar. That would be huge.

How old are you anyway?
25 soon. I think I got years of decent natty gains ahead and when you believe everything is possible
Hand is feeling much better now. Healing well. Tore on Thursdi night so been a while now. Stung like a motherfucker at the time but definitely nothing too devastating as far as hand tears go.
Now that the bandaid is off I can see that the chunk of skin taken out is actually above my callous area (like just above the callous toward the wrist) which seems strange.
Ima try straps on Tuesdi and see what happens
If you can make gains fast without getting injured or totally burning yourself out then there is no reason not to, but at some point you can’t make fast gains (unless you take PEDs or gain a ton of weight or something like that). If you’re doing something that is working then keep doing it until it stops working, then figure out how to adjust things.
Or at least regular iron plates, if you are training for a meet and pulling with bumper plates then there is a good chance you will have some issues. Using bumper plates as an overload movement could work, it’s kind of the same idea as a low block pull. Just don’t overdo it if it’s causing a lot of fatigue.
So injury risk isn’t higher with “fast” gains?
Not really, you are probably more likely to injure yourself doing more volume than you can recover from and making no gains. One way or another, lifting weights has risks but so does a lack of exercise, nothing can be perfectly safe.
You have two categories of injuries, overuse and acute. Overuse injuries are self-explanatory, acute injuries are usually a result of using poor technique or pushing past form breakdown. Attempting 1rm PR and RPE 10 rep maxes is high risk for obvious reasons and should be done sparingly, but generally speaking there is no reason why you should avoid getting too strong too fast.
The exception could be if you are using a lot of PEDs, not only will strength and muscle grow at a much faster rate than tendons and ligaments but it can actually inhibit connective tissue growth. That’s one reason why you see some guys doing sets of 30-100 or whatever on exercises like leg curls and tricep extensions, more for injury prevention than anything. But if you aren’t doing that then you don’t need to be concerned.

Spent the morning putting up a Facebook Marketplace add for my weights. Selling the a bunch hopefully about 5hundo worth to fund upgrades to big as bumper plates. Getting a lot of hits but most everyone is more of a cheapskate than me.
Don’t you talk about age, you’re a youngling.
Guinea pig average lifespan is seven years though
In that case go for the tren.
Live fast. Leave massive coffin

Just got the confirmation that McQuinns gym in Bendigo has survived the lockdown and is reopening on the 22nd.
The gym is close to my heart in a lot of ways and the owner is a great bloke so it’s good that lockdown didn’t extend until the end of the year or something so he’s actually been able to improve the place. Had a sneak peak when I was returning my weights and it’s beautiful super keen to lift there
Restrictions are 60 people in the gym at once, social distancing and so on which is plenty for a medium sized establishment. Not enough welcoming private establishments around and even less after the lockdown so gotta show some love
Probably gonna go on grand re-opening day and use up all the bumper plates for 4 hours lel. Was originally planning to cap off lockdown with a big 270kg deadlift on grand re opening day here in a few months but since the re opening timeline accelerated completely forgot and hit it last week. Don’t think I’ll be ready to hit anything too big but I think filling up the bar with phat 25kg bumpers will be enough of a show for peeps.
Good to hear
So no bench lift off, no spotting? If you get pinned under the bar then nobody can help you.
You should try Hummer tire deadlifts
You got all kinds of time… lol
I fear no lift.
One of the guys at McQuinns has been training with tyres and a metal rod he fabricated himself not sure of Olympic sized.
My max cheat set up would be 3 pairs of big 25kg bumpers and fill up the rest with thinner plates. With calibrated plates should be able to fit like 320kg on which is plenty
