Second workout of the year is a hot day at 30 degrees Celsius but at least I’m not lifting tomorrow when it’s meant to be 41 degrees. Iron Revolution today. No aircon so thought it would be sweat city but one strategically placed fan is able to ventilate the whole place.
Squat
155kg x 3,3,3,2
Do discs feel heavier than bumpers or is it just me? New weight so did some low reps to feel it out.
First set did not go well. Misgrooved the second rep and missed one side on the rerack. Could’ve got nasty but was lucky to get off with just bruised pride. However might get gym banned for hurting the Eleiko bar though lol.
Took long rests and finished off the rest of the sets. Am now paranoid about missing the hooks.
Front Squat

Uncomfortable as always. Can I please have a mini bar pad / pussypad / Bar tampon? Or is it time to make some clavicle gains.
Bit strange cos I kinda felt like I was rounding a decent amount everywhere or at least being as lazy as possible while not dumping the front squat. Looking at the vid it’s not as much as it felt like.
Looking forward to some Front Squat gains going forward but that stuff better carryover to all the things well or I’m going to go be an oly lifter.
Bench

Have I said how much I hate reps? Miscounting and misgrooving all over the place because this piggy has a peanut sized brain. Small rep PR amongst the clusterfuck of benching so pretty happy with that.
Trying to go for a quicker set up on bench and it feels much better.

Sumo Deadlift
190kg x 4,4 Rep PR
Usually lifts feel bad but look good on camera but today Sumo felt much better than last session but looked slow. Think the slower bar speed is throwing off my knee lockout timing. A few workouts at this weight should sort it out. Got in 4 reps for a new rep Pr.
Had a play with my mates SBD Belt and it’s some next level stuff. It feels thicc. Lever is good fun to play with too. If I had the cash I’d get it.
Keen for my belt to arrive from Loaded Lifting to get some belted DL practice going but being a cheap pig didn’t go for express shipping and now email said on the way but Auspost tracking says pending no updates.
Conventional Deadlift
170kg x 4,4 Rep PR
Feeling heavy but on video moved decently well. Back rounds a bit if I’m lazy. Not looking forward to hitting the higher rep rep PRs and getting all kinds of back rounding happening.
Did a bunch more accessory stuff but that’s about it.
