For myself:

Barbell (el cheapo stiff) should be coming in today.

Rented some weights and a bench myself from a local gym owner I know. Unfortunately his business won’t survive this but me and a couple of members are keeping cash flowing in.

Bought a squat rack from Aldi for cheap.

Super tempted to buy a noodle bar for myself just to have one available the rest of my life.

Should be back to productive barbell lifting within a few days. Can’t let u overtake me.

Stiff-ish bar came in today and drove back to Melbourne with squat rack, weights and everything. Set up is about ready to go. Time to start making gains again.

Still on the fence about a deadlift bar. Dunno if I’d be able to find one in stock or a cheap one. With exchange rates right now I could get one from the US but price is prohibitive ~ $1000

Did a bench triple this evening to try the rack out and it felt incredibly off for having been away from the lift a little while.

Quarantine isn’t the worst environment for gains. Once u have equipment then it becomes better than normal time.

Still easing back into things with some light deads today. Didn’t feel good but didn’t feel bad either. Should hit full speed again soon.

My bar is a little thicc I think more than a regular power bar. Is fairly stiff so I’ll use stiff bar deadlift as one of my movements. It may end up being the “comp” deadlift if I don’t get a DL bar.

Nothin much to mention on bench. Weight moved easily for 3x4 @ 95kg but I am feeling beat up in my elbow and shoulder joint for some reason. Can a thicker bar increase joint stress? Maybe it’s the arm wrestling stuff?

A combination perhaps. I think armwrestling puts a lot of stress on the joints.

Yeah gonna go pretty easy on arm wrestling volume and build up. See how it goes.

Whipped out the measuring tape turns out the bar markings ain’t standard. Have been gripping the bar different. My joints feel better today we’ll see how next sesh feels

Still easing back in. Squats felt better with each set should be able to hit full pace within a week. Bench feeling heavy so may take a bit longer to be ready to go.

Gonna build front squats and incline press with the equipment I got. Hit some PRs on em soon
