I’ll take that offer of you smuggling me into Aus now. Lol
1.8m Gal 50mm pipe is like $35. Just need something to use as a collar.
Go by boat. Planes is fooked. Or catch a container ship into port Melbourne and I’ll pick you up if you don’t suffocate
Clamps would be good but I think ima order a shitty barbell.
Lol. Why not invest in a good barbell though? Always an investment, good resale value too
What’s a barbel cost like one fiddy?
I considered it (tempted) but I’d probably rather have a couple of hundred during the coronantine. Our social services are massively overloaded rn can’t get any payment support. My work will probably stop soon also
Would be nice to have a rogue power bar and deadlift bar ready to go for the rest of my life though. The only a bit over a grand between em. As far as home gyms go not that much could easily drop 5k on a “minimalist” set up.
Home gym has always been a in the future it’s too expensive thing but here we are. There’ll be opportunities in the future to sell and buy stuff. We’ll see how the how gym market is after the economy tanks and we go into recession/depression
Try two fiddy. There’s nothing left in stock pretty much had to buy what was available or go big for rogue or something
Ooooh that’s a bit exy
First time in the coronagym. Nothing too serious but I think I can put together a productive block of training, getting a decent hypertrophy and strength stimulus.
Did some weighted push-ups (+50kg), chin ups, stone lifting and arm wrestling stuff. Need bigger rocks lol
Have had a lot of momentum last few blocks but the changed training conditions might change that. Will do the best I can and enjoy though.
Maybe you could borrow/rent a bar from your gym?
Then buy one for homegym after the crisis.
Otherwise find a decent bar. I think Rogue have some with minor faults on sale sometimes.
I rented my weights but the gyms bars were all spoken for. Ended up ordering a meh bar from interstate because it would arrive quick (most Australian companies are swamped with orders right now). It’ll do the job.
All this home gym shopping has made me realise that a decent set up isn’t very far out of reach. Poor as I am I can still conceive of dropping $$$ on some rogue gear.
Home gym has always been a future thing for me but it would be nice to have a decent barbell of my own around. Im often in regional/rural areas and will probs settle there so wherever I end up even if it’s there’s already a gym I can bring in my bar
After this crisis there’ll be a recession and gym equipment will probs go the reverse it is now so we may pick up one there
Gon do some arm wrestling training to supplement my CoronaGains training.
Arm wrestling will be something different to spice things up and I have next level gym nemesis to defeat on the other side of this quarantine. May join a club if there’s any around but it’s not too big in Australia I think
They had it at the Arnold last year but can’t remember where the clubs were.
They’re probably around but I’ve never heard of one. I’ve heard of all kinds of random as clubs like American Football and shit but it arm wrestling
I am guessing google or Facebook is your friend here
One thing at a time my friend. Need to get massive forearms first
Still no barbell so a bit of lower body work today.
Let’s just say body weight squats ain’t no joke if we do em right. Don’t think I’ll complain about a barbell lift for high reps again when the alternative is dozens of constant tension reps.
Incredible quad pump. When I get a barbell in I think some high rep heels elevated lifting is indicated.
Still messing around until I get a bar and set up in Melbourne.
Heavy push ups +80kg, plate rows @ 40kg and arm wrestling + stones for a not super unproductive session.
Looking forward to getting in some specific / productive powerlifting work maybe starting Monday or Tuesday.
That is awesome for overall strength Hamster, good job
