GuineaPig’s Training Log - Hunt 300 Deadlift

Nothin much to report. Handled some 50kg / 110 lb DBs today. Not much control to it but more than I thought I’d ever be dB pressing.

Nice work piggie, This is always a measure for me, once you get the 50’s up you know you are in a good place. I haven’t pressed the 50’s in years. Maybe I should give it a try after the next comp. hmmmmmm

I’m gonna call em in lbs now because it sounds cooler to be > 100 lbs

I would have done that as soon as I hit 46kg :joy:

Tru. Well I’ll see u at 130 lbs one day then

I gladly accept that challenge. I may have to wait for my gym to buy some though. Lol

Ghetto tape some 5s on the end of em. Now that I think about it IR might have up to 57.5kg I know for sure. Might be a 60 hiding under the rack. Haven’t looked to close tbh. There are plate loadable dumbbells handles though. When ur ready we can meet up and hit a half rep competition lol

Haven’t had a good deadlift day in a minute (maybe three sessions running). Got one today though and took advantage with a rep PB on sumo deadlifts 200kg x 11 @ RPE coulda done like 20+ reps lol.

I need to manage fatigue better and stay disciplined by keeping the light days chillaxed so I can get more productive high/heavy days like this. Me vs myself has always been the battle I guess.

Also bench PB triple @ 125kg. Creeping ever closer to three biscuits.

Getting real strong mate. I need to work harder.

It’s now when there’s a random hi day so we can see we are moving in the right direction.

I’d like my squat to be moving because it kinda stalled out maybe still weaker than pre back injury levels.

Give it time mate and it will get there and beyond. Remember this strength game is not a sprint. I hear you get 10kg extra just using a comp bench :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My favourite bench has been the one at McQuinns Gym in Bendigo though

How many kgs does that one give you :muscle::muscle:

Really great workouts lately hamster, that 11 rep 200 kg DL is silly. Strong mate.
You’ll get 3 plate bench soon and the squat will go through the roof before you know.

I’d like to thank all the yummy foods for helping me get huge and my back for not exploding on me lol

Also DL grip is looking better. Takes decent hand maintenance but that and hook gripping the smooth looks to be working out.

Keeping mixed in just in case. Can never have too many tools in the toolkit.

Heaviest strap less work from last sesh:

Coach Robo Sheiko unexpectedly blessed me with a heavy day. Hit an equal PR triple back squat at 190kg but this time in the wide stance/flat shoes.

Best opportunity so far to compare the two styles that I’ve been working on since coming back from back injury.

Feels like easier to grind through the wide stance squat but more rebound out the bottom with narrow stance so less need to grind

Looking good and making progress! Hard to say because different filming angles but looks like you get a slight bit of inward knee movement on narrow squats that you don’t seem to get on wide stance?

How are you finding Shieko Gold? From your log I’d say it was working for you, do you think it’s better than a more off the shelf program?
