Yeah knee cave for sho on that set. Is not usually a thing for me though I dunno why that set exhibited it.
I’d say the app is good if you are good at coaching yourself like knowing when and how much to push on days of high readiness and being disciplined in backing off on days that are meant to be light (what I need to work on mostly).
The app will prescribe you sets and reps but I’ve found intensity to be too low on deads often and on bench and squat to a lesser degree so while the app caps auto regulating weight upwards by 10kg Ive exceeded this at times.
If you are a lifter who needs/wants more hypertrophy or work capacity / volume or responds well to that style then Juggernaut AI is more for that.
It’s worked well for me since my back injury and I’m getting back up there with more to come. I like to pick at my training and adjust on the fly. The biggest thing the app helps me with is fatigue management and that’s been great for performance and preventing re injury of my back.
Good info thanks, I’ve pretty much been on 5/3/1 for main lifts for most of my training, then depending on goals at the time accessories either work on perceived weakness or hypertrophy. Fatigue management is probably something I neglect, and get the occasional warning from my body (mostly lower back, but nothing physio and a few weeks without squats/deads doesn’t fix).
I’ve never competed (and am pretty weak considering how long I’ve been at this!) but mostly train to improve the big 3 hence the 5/3/1 being the main bread and butter of my training.
I must say the thought of doing something different interests me but 5/3/1 is my safe/easy place!
U do the one with AMRAPS or at least close to AMRAP? Then more sub max work will be a pretty big change. Could be good if you get a lot of fatigue from AMRAPs or there’s some technique gains to be had
Yup every top set is AMRAP, don’t do any back off sets either so the sub max work would be a big difference.
I’ve got 531 as a spreadsheet that takes all thinking out for me (the only thing I’ve done is cap AMRAP sets at 6 for deads and 8 for squats because I know that’s roughly when my form starts breaking down and I’ll just grind it out anyway which is where the injury comes in) so having an app definitely appeals!
Yeah honestly u can make all ur gains without hitting an AMRAP. Whatever works for you
AMRAP squats would burn me out fast and I’m not happy enough with my technique or consistency to really push like that. Bench is fair game and deadlifts I’m experimenting with medium rep work but not tru AMRAPS just to technical failure if at all close.
Didn’t end up going as per previous post but finally got in today four days from my last sesh. With all the rest was expecting my readiness to be high but may be offset by de training.
Readiness was high-ish could’ve been better but felt good enough to send it for bunch of PRs and repping out my what were my 1RMs so that’s nice.
PBs is as follows:
Sumo Deadlift: 240kg x 4 Strapless Deadlift: 230kg x 1 Pause Deadlift: 220kg x 2
Bench Press: 130kg x 2 TnG Bench Press: 135kg x 1 Long Pause Bench: 120kg x 3
Bit in the tank on all of them I think. I think 140kg / three biscuits will be there next time I max and 315lbs (like 143kg) will be there not long after @kckfl349@idontbrag123 where y’all at in the bench competition.
My back is a little sore but it’s not like what my back pain was it’s like muscle/erector soreness from losing position on the deadlifts.
All in all pretty good day. Now to go into corona virus hiding for another week. Bai lol
I feel like I’m hitting up to RPE 9/9.5 lol. Probably means my feeling for how close to max I am is off for not having done much true near maximal work. If I ever comp prep than that’ll be important to develop
Your deadlifts, on video, look like RPE 0.6. Squats maybe 1.3. Which is great, since you’re strong as fuck, but there’s literally no sticking point anywhere. Sky’s the limit.
Hamster I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, because it was a long time ago.
Your technique is spot on, and it looks so effortless.
If those are RPE 9 or more, wow Quality.
